Deepak, Ericka,

First off, I hope you all had a nice holiday and continue to have a joyous holiday season leading you and BuySellTix.com into a great new year!

I never received a response from you all to my reply to Deepak's message of November 15th.  Again, I realize that my response here (attached immediately below) is "just a bit" ;o) lengthy (I don't like that, either), but unfortunately I'm being put in a position of having to explain everything over and over because I am dealing with different folks who don't know "the deal" (so to speak, to keep this message short).  Let me know what's up.  I would like to continue our partnership, of course, BUT if you have decided that you want to go in a different direction, just let me know, so I can remove "this" from my long to-do list.  Thank you!  I am...

...Sincerely,

Steve Stegeman

Hi, Deepak!

Thank you for your prompt and detailed response!  What you suggest is somewhere between kind of possible and not really possible.  Here's the deal...

First off, attached are four files which illustrate what you had last year on the team report pages.  If you save all four of them (into the same directory... any directory) on a local disk, then open "broncos-footballinfoframes.htm" in your browser program, you will see the (much shorter, more generic and simpler than what you describe below) kind of link that I provided for you all last year.  The bottom line is that the space for this is a bit limited (as you can see).  So, would you rather just have the big "Broncos Tickets" link (as you can see by way of the attached files) or the line "Will Jake Plummer lead the Denver Broncos to win the AFC West in 2005?" squeezed into that area?  I'll do whatever, but a) I think the latter will be cheesy-looking and b) the latter is more high-maintenance because after the '05 season is over, (we need to remember that) that will need to be changed to something appropriate and then I am going to have to do it, of course.

Secondly, having a prominent link on (just) the page, http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi, is not possible the way I think you think it is.  The only place it can go on (just) that page is, like it was last year, in the rotating banner, where the exposure isn't that great, to be quite honest.  I mean... like I did last year I will gladly add in a tickets link for your three teams in that rotating banner (that's just like a free bonus in light of my negotiations with Gina last year), and I will gladly also add what you indicated below in there as well.  But, you have to know that that exposure isn't that great.  It's not like I can put your link outside the rotating banner like where the "FF-specific Team Report" links or my "donations" or "t-shirt" links are because links that are there appear on EVERY PAGE of the forum, and to have a link on every page of "the Gridiron" forum is SIGNIFICANTLY more pricey (as I explained to Gina last year, i.e., $225 is not even on the same planet, no less in the same ballpark).

Here's an excerpt from a message below that I had sent Jay that may be worth your consulting again now, Deepak:

...  Your links are most prominent on the following pages (vis--vis the page you mention in your message below, where your links are much less prominent):

http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/broncos/broncos-footballinfoframes.htm;

http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/vikings/vikings-footballinfoframes.htm;

http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/giants/giants-footballinfoframes.htm;

http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/eagles/eagles-footballinfoframes.htm;

http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/steelers/steelers-footballinfoframes.htm.

And, then, you also have links in our rotating banner area on the page you mention:

http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/.

And, I also provide some BONUS links for you on the following pages:

http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/sponsor.htm;

http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;action=display;num=1099533219.

Furthermore, I have included a link to BuySellTix.com in about a third of the mass e-mails I send out to my members.

For that "package", I received $300 a year ago.  ...

I hope this all paints a more vivid picture of the "the deal".  Let me know what you want in light of IT ALL and let's finally get this behind us.  Be in touch!  I am...

...Sincerely,

Steve Stegeman

Deepak,

Well, first off, no, that is not my address as I feared and, no, I have not and in all likelihood will not receive the check.  So, I would highly recommend putting a stop payment on that check a.s.a.p.

Furthermore, based on my and Jay's NON-communication, I'd be curious to know what the check was for.  I wouldn't have a clue.  Was it for $350?  Was it for $200?  Was it for...???  ...  So, in any event, as I do NOT want to just receive a check for whatever, I'd like to get what it is you all want and what you are paying me for it straightened out before I pass on my new mailing address.  Your options are, as stated and elaborated on below (and, mind you, I've added TWO more team reports since my last contact with Jay about 10 days ago):

Option 1) $375 for one year of being ADDED to the 5 team report pages you all had been on;

Option 2) $575 for one year of being ADDED to ALL 18 (17 NEW) team report pages;

Option 3) $675 for one year of being ADDED to ALL 18 (17 NEW) team report pages AND AUTOMATIC ADDITION to any team reports that are added over the next 12 months (if any);

Option 4) $225 (the $200 Jay was indicating you all were willing to pay plus $25; mind you, $200 is a WHOLE $100 LESS than you all paid me last year) for one year of being ADDED to 3 team report pages of your choice.

Note that these prices reflect an extra $25 from what I had indicated below based on the fact that I had already removed you all's links (note, also, that I took down your links last weekend).  I had told Ericka that I'd be doing this.  I'm not going to replace the links until a deal has been agreed upon and payment received.  I can't be taking time putting links up and taking them down and putting them up and taking them down.  I'm sorry.

Well, once again, I look forward to receiving your response and offer.  I am...

...Sincerely,

Steve Stegeman

  I just wanted to let you know that I have talked to Jay about this and he is going to work with you.  If you do not hear from him by Monday, please let me know and I will take care of this issue.  We still would like to have you advertise for us.  I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Hello, Jay!

(cc:  Gina, Sara, Michael???)

At this point, I am regretfully just writing to inform you that this past weekend I went ahead and removed the "BuySellTix.com" links from "FantasyFootballer.com".  It dismays me that it came to this.  However, with all of our back-and-forth (see messages attached below), it was never made clear what it exactly was that you wanted and/or how much you were willing to pay (it was the latter that you were particularly unclear about).  Furthermore, even though I asked a couple times, you never indicated what address you have on file for me so we would know you were sending payment to the right place (again, I've moved since last year).  I hope you did not send it to the same address as you did last year.  It is true that I never volunteered my new address, but that was because, since you were unclear regarding the more important issues of "what you want" and "how much you will pay", I did not want to receive any sort of payment.

So, this is one last shout out.  I already put the work in taking your links down, so if you want to come back as a merchant sponsor, I'll have to replace the links.  This is all extra work.  I'd probably insist on an extra $25 over and above the amounts I OUTLINED in my initial reply which is attached BELOW.

In any event, I want to heartily thank you for the support you gave to "FantasyFootballer.com" and "the Gridiron" over the last year.  Over the past year, we have grown quite a bit.  I hope "BuySellTix.com" continues to flourish as you expect.  If you want to return, contact me at your earliest possible convenience, but PLEASE try to be "responsive" to what I wrote in the messages attached hereto.  Otherwise, we will continue going in circles.  I am...

...Sincerely,

Steve Stegeman

Jay,

(I've sent this message now three times without hearing back from you...  I hope you are okay...)

So, you are sending $350 (for Option 1 - keeping it the same), NOT $200, right?  And, where are you sending it?  As I stated in my first reply (attached below), I have MOVED since last year.  What address do you have for me?

- Steve

Jay,

I have yet to hear back from you.  As you know, your links are scheduled to be removed on November 3rd unless we strike a new deal.  I outlined the (three) "preferred" options in detail in my message attached below.  If none of them suit you, what I can do for the amount you stated, $200, is simply remove your ad link from two of the five team report pages you are currently on as well as their according appearances in the rotating banner on our index page,... your choice.  Again, the links for BuySellTix.com are currently on the team report pages for the:  1) Broncos, 2) Vikings, 3) Giants, 4) Eagles and 5) Steelers, and accordingly in the rotating banner on our index page.  Just tell me for which two of them you want your links to be removed, and for $200 we can call it a day.  The links for BuySellTix.com will remain up on (the) three team report pages (of your choosing) and in the rotating banner accordingly.  Please let me know your decision at your earliest possible convenience.  I am...

Hello, Jay!

It is wonderful hearing from our friends over at BuySellTix.com!!!  I surely want to have you all remain aboard as "the Gridiron @FantasyFootballer.com" grows.  But, let me first review where you have ads on our site...  Your links are most prominent on the following pages (vis--vis the page you mention in your message below, where your links are much less prominent):

http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/broncos/broncos-footballinfoframes.htm;

http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/vikings/vikings-footballinfoframes.htm;

http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/giants/giants-footballinfoframes.htm;

http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/eagles/eagles-footballinfoframes.htm;

http://www.ffpro.com/teamreports/steelers/steelers-footballinfoframes.htm.

And, then, you also have links in our rotating banner area on the page you mention:

http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/.

And, I also provide some BONUS links for you on the following pages:

http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/sponsor.htm;

http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;action=display;num=1099533219.

Furthermore, I have included a link to BuySellTix.com in about a third of the mass e-mails I send out to my members.

For that "package", I received $300 a year ago.

Now, given the fact that my member base alone, that doesn't count the total increase in traffic of the site, mind you, has increased by about 100 members (25%) over the last year, I cannot justify going any cheaper.  As a matter of fact, as site costs grow, I have to be honest...  I can't keep BuySellTix.com aboard for less than $350 for year two (no less the significantly (33%) reduced price you offered).

FURTHERMORE, the number of team report pages, where you have your most prominent links, have grown by 300%, from 5, when you all came aboard, to 15.  I had made the following offer to your representative last year:  for $500 I would CONTINUE to ADD you all's links to new team report pages throughout your contract year, i.e., for $500 a year ago, you would have been on ALL 15 pages now, instead of the $300 you paid for the 5 you are currently on.

So, with all that in mind, based on where we are now, here is a summary of what I am willing to do:

Option 1) $350 for a one-year renewal of what you currently have (outlined above);

Option 2) $550 for a one-year renewal AND being ADDED to the other 10 NEW team report pages;

Option 3) $650 for a one-year renewal AND being ADDED to the other 10 NEW team report pages AND AUTOMATIC ADDITION to any team reports that are added over the next 12 months.

If you are still interested, contact me and let me know which option you prefer.  I can receive payment by check or money order (I have moved since last year, so I will need to give you a new mailing address, however) OR credit card.  Also, note... once I receive payment, if you choose options 2 or 3, I will gladly add your links to the other 10 team report pages even if it is before November 3rd, so it'll be just bonus time for you.

Well, that's about it.  I look forward to receiving your response and hopefully continuing to do business with BuySellTix.com.  I am...

...Sincerely,

Steve Stegeman
