Well, as for QB Jeff Garcia, "The REAL Feed" is showing the following: 49ers to decide QB Garcia's fate on Monday ESPN: NFL (01.03.2004 14:26) From the LOCAL reports on "the Gridiron Newsstand", sounds like he might be one foot out the door. Here they ALL are: (AP Report) http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/football/nfl/san_franc isco_49ers/8060550.htm; http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/football/nfl/san_franc isco_49ers/8078601.htm; http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctimes/sports/football/nfl/san_fran cisco_49ers/8064684.htm; http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctimes/sports/football/nfl/san_fran cisco_49ers/8076059.htm; http://www.sacbee.com/content/sports/football/sf_49ers/story/8350548p-92 80415c.html; http://www.pressdemocrat.com/49ers/news/28niners_c1empirec.html; (Local Commentary) http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctimes/sports/football/nfl/san_fran cisco_49ers/8064683.htm. This is somethin', huh, guys? Who'd a thunk it just a year ago!?!?

The 49ers officially notified quarterback Jeff Garcia on Monday night that he will be placed on waivers Tuesday, ESPN.com has learned. Garcia's release will come before Tuesday 4 p.m. ET deadline for all teams to be in compliance with the NFL's $80.6 million cap ceiling. Here is a link to the whole piece: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1748872. WOW! This is HUGE news for Garcia owners and FANTABULOUSLY SCRUMTRULESCENT news for Rattay owners... like yours truly (in the GBRFL). |

Here's the juice from "the Gridiron Newsstand", the corroborative LOCAL reports on the imminent and sure departure of QB Jeff Garcia later today: http://www.pressdemocrat.com/49ers/news/02niners_c1.html; http://www.sacbee.com/content/sports/football/sf_49ers/story/8387076p-93 16748c.html!

I too have T.O. in the GBRFL and believe it or not, kc, I now hope with the departure of Garcia that T.O. stays put. I think they are going to be hawkin' it up in San Fran A LOT next year and I, deep-down, think T.O. wants to stay. As taterhog suggests in his thread "between the 20's", his missing his opportunity to become a free-agent might have had something to do with his wanting to see what was going to happen with Garcia first (all the rest was just rhetoric). Now that he is gone... T.O. has been quoted as being a supporter of Tim Rattay. Indemnification Clause: I do also have Rattay.

Coach Erickson is looking for someone who could step in and handle the offense for at least the first few games while Rattay recovers." |
| This is a scarey thought. You think the entire world would know by now.... KORDELL SUCKS!!! (literally and figuratively)
