WOW. This just doesn't fit his MOJO, but that was when his was a rookie. I could see where he may have fronted some $ to some of his old BOYS back then. Who know. He has been clean al through his pro career.
I do seem to remember that he had some drug talks about him in college. They came up before he was drafted. His stock will take a major HIT due to this. He is still a stud, but will this distraction due to him what it did to Kobe?
I HOPE NOT. He has the $ for the best lawyers. He will orlly find a way to push the date back as far as possible. I think he prolly just hung out with some guys that did that stuff, but he was not the guy that did the dealing. It will be interesting to see where this goes. I wish him all the best.

This is amazing news.  They have him on tape talking to an informant.  Can you say he is in trouble?  Yep!  This is bad bad news for fantasy owners of Mr Lewis.  However, I have not heard what exactly the penalty is for this.(either legal or NFL rules.)

Straight off "The REAL Feed":

Convincing jury of Jamal Lewis' guilt will be hard
ESPN: NFL (01.03.2004 22:54)

Need I say any more (if they are already saying that)?

At this point in the "debate", DD, I'll go back and say what I said way earlier on this thread:  that is "I'll believe it when I see it!"

I think (at least part of your motive is that) you're tryin' to stoke the fires by feedin' the ole' Stegster, your fellow GBRFL competitor who just so happens to have Jamal Lewis on his roster, here whatever rhetoric "works."

Just a follow-up on my post immediately above, could you provide me a link, i.e. some substantiation, on Jamal's already having been suspended for four games in the past, DD?  My memory may be failing me right now, but I don't ever remember Jamal Lewis's being suspended for four games.  He was out with his injured knee for a year (two seasons ago).  ...  Maybe Ray Lewis incurred a four-game suspension for the shady night-club incident he was involved in, but I honestly do not remember Jamal Lewis's ever being suspended.  Do you have a link or something?

No, Steg DD is correct. He has been suspended for the 4 games due to violating the drug policy. But, he has passed his "probation period" in the NFL. Meaning, his next offense, he will not be suspended for the year, but he will go back to the stage one of the drug policy. His probation ended the day after the pro bowl.

Lewis was suspended four games by the NFL in November of 2001 for a repeat violation of the league's substance abuse policy.

The quote is from the article.  The NFL never said WHY he was suspended, but it was alleged it was drugs.  The reason you probably don't remember his suspension was because he wasout on IR at the time.

I was not sure how the NFL would handle this.  I knew he had been suspended, but i did not know his NFL status.

Here's the latest on Jamal Lewis's legal woes from "The REAL Feed"; it seems to paint the glass as somewhat half full:

Jamal Lewis's lawyers attack tape evidence in drug case against NFL star running back
FaceOff: Football (02.04.2004 20:26)
ATLANTA (AP) - Lawyers for Jamal Lewis say the drug conspiracy case against their client is weak because only the voice of the government's key witness can be heard on two tapes that prosecutors are using as evidence against the Baltimore Ravens running back.

But, news coming out of "the Gridiron Newsstand" by way of the Baltimore Sun is painting the glass as somewhat half empty:
