Woo-hoo... A 3-0 week... Steg's representin' "the Gridiron" well, made it to the final four in JYJ's experts league and a two-win week in the GBRFL is proof that the Stegeman franchise is commencing its reawakening... "It's ALIVE! As for JYJ's league, game balls for RB's Tiki Barber and Edgerrin James. Also, two thumbs up to the rest of the squad for a fantastic overall team effort. Now, frankly speaking, "experts" league or not, my commitment lies in the GBRFL, and my 2-0 week therein pumps me up. There is a hilarious kicker here that I'll get to in a moment... Anyway, I simply want to hand two BIG game balls out to all the key players of the two lineups, none of whom really had HUGE games, but ALL of whom contributed to fantastic team efforts in my two wins, as well as to a guy on my bench whose value just goes up and up: Michael Vick, Warrick Dunn, T.J. Duckett, Jason Elam and the Redskins D/ST, all of whom were in the lineups for both games, Jeff Garcia and Eddie Kennison, who were in my Game 1 lineup, and Jake Plummer, Koren Robinson and Isaac Bruce, who were in my Game 2 lineup, and finally Marion Barber, who was on my bench. Awesome jobs, one and all!!! Now, for the "kicker",... no,... not place-kicker, you football heads; kicker as in the punch line or funny/ironic part of a story,... you GBRFLers and 2ers will really get a roll out of this as you know the set-up... Poor Markie,... when he gets wind of this,... Being busy with finals week last week and rushing, I can only suppose, I had it in my head that DB was my "Game 1" and Markie my "Game 2". Since my team is really bad and I just want to have the sheer enjoyment of rooting for more players, I used the "dual lineup submission" option, i.e. rather than putting one lineup in that stands for both games, put two slightly different lineups in for each game. Anyway, I had it backwards: Markie was my "Game 1" and DB my "Game 2", and, thus, had submitted my lineups not the way I had intended: they were accidentally in reverse. I realized this just last night as I processed the stats for the week. Anyway, my "Game 1" lineup ended up being my better lineup and had I had that lineup in for both games would have won them both, BUT if I had my "Game 2" lineup in against Markie, as I had intended, I would have lost to him, and he would be in a MUCH better position for the championship. As it stands, I UNWITTINGLY played BIG-time spoiler, probably putting a kibosh on any hopes he had of winning the league! ... Sorry, bro... Really,... I didn't mean (to do) it... ... ... Fantasy football... Got to love it! I just hope Nurse Danny doesn't win it now...
