This is a fun piece, although I am getting it up here last-minute, vis-a-vis kickoff at least...  It's still a worthwhile look moving forward...  From "The REAL Feed", where it's been up for the last 24 or so hours:

Last-minute medical check: Week 1
SI.com: NFL (11.09.2010 20:16)
I can almost smell the clipped grass. Week 1 of the NFL season offers so much in the way of possibilities. For some, this is as far as the season will go. Not to be a buzzkill, but sometime Sunday, someone's season, maybe their career and dream, is going to end. Injuries are part of this game, an...

Interesting post-Week 1 piece... from "The REAL Feed":

10 questions: Does Terrell Owens, Chad Ochocinco disappearance portend future problems for Bengals
USA TODAY: Sports (13.09.2010 11:02)
USA TODAY's Sean Leahy spins around the NFL with 10 questions from Sunday's Week 1 games and looks at how they will affect Week 2

I don't care what the piece says about Owens and Ochocinco's halftime walk-off, but it was weak no matter how you cut it up...

With me out of pocket this past week, things have been quiet.  I want to get something up, but the picks out of Jacksonville.com are kind of weak this week...  Check 'em out for yourself, though...  From "The REAL Feed":

Fantasy Football Picks: Who to start and who to sit in Week 7
Jacksonville.com: Ultimate Jaguars (23.10.2010 19:38)
Times-Union reporters Hays Carlyon and David Johnson debate players to start and sit for Week 7 of the NFL season.

Currently topping "The REAL Feed" is a fun kickoff week prognostication piece, save for the writer's trying to look smart but ultimately outsmarting himself by incorrectly writing and, thus, propagating the incorrect expression, "without further adieu" (it should be "without further ado"; "adieu" means "goodbye" as in "I bid you adieu," as in "I bid you farewell.")...

A fun LOCAL piece from off "The REAL Feed":

The Fifth Down: Week 5 in Fantasy Football: Favorable and Unfavorable Matchups
New York Times: Sports (06.10.2011 12:42)
Will the "ground and pound" return this week? Jets Coach Rex Ryan said it would, a reason Shonn Greene is among our favorable matchup picks for Week 5.

SI.com: NFL (09.10.2011 09:12)
The bye weeks are here, which means fantasy football fill-ins can be vital. Will Carroll analyzes the upgrades, downgrades and inactives and will host a live chat at 11:30 a.m. ET.

Worth sharing... even though there are some contentions I really disagree with...  From "The REAL Feed":

Upgrade, downgrades in Week 6's Med Check
SI.com: NFL (16.10.2011 09:02)
With Julio Jones out for the Falcons, who'll pick up the receiving slack against the Panthers? Will Carroll makes his pick, along with the rest of his Week 6 upgrades and downgrades.

Fantasy-specific piece rolling off "The REAL Feed" worth a look-see:

Bilicki's NFL Fantasy, Week 9
SLAM! Sports NFL (04.11.2011 14:16)
Chris Johnson. If you read that name and just groaned you either used your first-round fantasy pick on him this year, traded for him hoping he'd improve by now or you're a Titans fan.

Interesting fantasy-specific LOCAL piece to include here!  From "The REAL Feed":

Fantasy Football: Big plans for Big Ben this week
Jacksonville.com: Ultimate Jaguars (05.11.2011 19:33)
Start Aaron Rodgers. Bench John Beck. Gee, thanks. Times-Union reporters Hays Carlyon and David Johnson go beyond the obvious to provide fantasy football trends before they unfold.
Three to start
QB BEN ROETHLISBERGER, STEELERS
David Johnson: Owners who look at matchups are scared of this...

Tim Tebow's legs may not be able to save him against the Bears' sixth ranked run defense. He is an unfavorable matchup pick in Week 14.

In looking at the Average Draft Position (ADP) for MJD, he was averaging being picked in the second round.  Amazing how short term some fantasy owners are.   This guy was a steal.....just like Mike Wallace and Ryan Matthews.  The upside on all 3 is large, but none as big as MJD!!!
