Fellas, This is the thread on which to make comments on your picks AS WELL AS hammer the rules/guidelines of you all's draft out. Some final notes before you guys (completely) take the reigns here... In case you guys want to refer to it one last time, here is a link to the CBFL administration thread, the initial post of which states those "draft rules": http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=54;a ction=display;num=1056943426. HERE IS THE LINK TO YOUR FIRST "OFFICIAL" GBRFL2 WEB PAGE, YOUR "ROSTERS" PAGE: http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/gbrfl2/rosters.htm. SWEET... JOININ' THE FAMILY! Usually team #'s in the GBRFL are not determined by the draft order. But, to keep it simple and since this is you all's origination draft, anyway, I am just going to use your "draft order" numbers as your team numbers for '03. So, you can also figure out your respective schedules by visiting the "Schedule" page at the GBRFL site. Given our experimental nature here on "the Gridiron", you will notice that I did some innovative things with the draft order in our special effort to achieve draft equity, besides that which had been discussed. I not only applied that special serpentine method, but I also reversed Rounds 11 through 20 from the order that Rounds 1 through 10 took and I applied a special order for Round 22, the round in which you select your coaches. I am really excited to find out what you guys think when everything is said and done. Lastly, I did not include team names on your "Rosters" page as I have not received one from everybody yet. Oh, one other thing, Gene, I hope I got your last name right! I induced it from your e-mail address. Please tell me if I got it wrong! Good luck, everybody! I am so happy to be bringing you all into the GBRFL family and I hope this is the beginning of many years together for all of us. Yours Truly, Steve Steg

| Actually, yes, the 7th pick is probably this draft format's "10th pick", i.e., it is the toughest. BUT, if you go through the whole draft, you will see that it ALL definitely evens out quite nicely, not just by way of the really late rounds, either. It is just that for the guy with the 7th pick the BIG screw job round happens to be Round 2 and his BIG "advantage" round is Round 9 and, the real cincher, making it the worst pick, is that he still doesn't really have a "premium" top (3 to 5) pick. BUT, he does get a pretty big bump in Round 3 and, OVERALL, that 7th spot is NOT nearly as bad as the 10th spot in a "regular" snake draft. If you're well tuned in, you'll realize it as the draft goes on! That having been said, you need to start the draft first before anything is, well, "realized"!

| With the top 6, some would say 7 or 8, rb so tightly grouped, might as well grab the one you like/predict to come out on top. Nice choice.

I'm willing to lose in the first year and build a dynasty that will last a long time and bring me multiple championships over the long haul. That being said, I still think I can outdraft the rest of you mugs and take the championship home this year too! |
| Phil, complain/blame away! You ended up with what amounts to this draft's worst pick... this draft's 10th pick! It's just that it is not as bad as a 10th in a regular snake draft, but it is still the worst of the 10. ALL of that having been said, I think you are going to find that you are going to be just fine! Good luck, my friend (and sorry )! And, good luck, everybody, now that this sucker is a movin'!

Remember, though, that, for the purposes of keeping things neat and easy to follow, that thread is just for picks, nothing else. This is the thread for other commentary. Pick there; comment here!
