This thread is for general discussion and commentary on the 2007 GBRFL2 restocking Draft set to kick off Friday, August 24th at 7:00 p.m. (EST). EVERYBODY is welcome!!! Whether you are in the league or not, feel free to post your thoughts on this thread.
The first two picks went according to expectations (although, I guess, I would not have argued if they were reveresed). It was clear to me that Peterson and Lynch were the cream of the crop this year. Now it gets interesting.
If I'm not here, Tony has my first proxy...I am sending several of you my cell phone number so that someone will be able to find me if I'm MIA and pick #2 comes around. May I suggest everyone do something similar.

Wow! Still three guys left who I like and only one more pick until I am up. It looks like I will have a tough decision but either way I think it will be ok.
This year you wanted to pick 1 to 6 after that it gets tough.
I projected I would get Quinn at 1.05. That is why I protected Charlie Frye. I could have taken Russell, but I think Quinn will see the field earlier (maybe even start game one).
I hope the Notre Dame hype is more than "hype"
Now all I need is Carr to beat our Delhomme and I am set at QB.
I hope that no one was sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for my pick. I was hoping one of the big three RBs would fall to me, but I kinda figured it would go this way (especially since I knew who Jim was taking once the first two went).
Calvin Johnson might not be a great pick for this year, but he's got future stud written all over him.
Now let's see what falls to me at 1.8!

I knew the big 3 RB's would be gone ...Cal too... I was hoping Quinn was gonna fall, but hey I'll go with Russell. Like you said Gene, it gets tougher now.
Yea I agree with you Philly. I was sitting there looking at Quinn, Russell, and Johnson. It was really a toss up for me. I think Russell has more talent than Quinn, but I think Quinn is further along due to the coaching he received from Wiess. I not crazy about having a QB on the Browns who also has to play Pittsburgh and Baltimore twice every season.
Johnson should be a stud WR for years to come. I'm not sure which way I would have went if I was picking in your spot. I think I may have taken Johnson also.

I can always use another RB and if he manages to beat out LanDale White and Chris Brown, I could be golden.
I am willing to wait unitl next year for him. Hopefully he will get a few starts at the end of the year so I can see if he is worth protecting for next year.
I think I had three different names typed in for the 1.08 pick before I pressed POST. That was a tough pick. I know it may be unconventional to go defense so early, but I think San Diego's D is better than people think. Now I'm set for the season with (what should be) a pair of top tier defenses.

I think he's golden. He's gonna get the chance to prove he's the man. Brown will break down and LenDale just won't put up a fight.
