In a 1-1 Week 1 in the GBRFL, there was some good and some bad...  The good... came mainly out of the all-important position in fantasy football, running back!  Darren McFadden was solid and looked great moving forward, especially in a deep keeper league as this, as did pleasant surprises, LaDainian Tomlinson and Fred Taylor, the latter of whom was a mid-second-round free-agent pick Week 1.  Also, four total passing touchdowns, an almost 80% completion percentage and overall solid performances out of QB's Vince Young and Matt Hasselbeck was nice... and, again, promising moving forward. Two thumbs up for Peyton Manning.  His 400+ yards essentially beat the COMBINED total of yards for their TWO QBs.

Ravens Defense was also amazing holding the Jets to very few yards and just a few points.

And then their were the WR tandem of Wes Welker and Jennings.   Simply amazing.

Week 2 was a disaster for me and Week 3 was a wonder, so here will go the lowdown on my wonderful Week 3 where I won two games by 60 points...  Top "dog", [smiley=peedog.gif] if you will, [smiley=whistle.gif] indubitably was Michael Vick!  WOW!!!  Outside of that, solid performances out of Darren McFadden, Cedric Benson, LaDainian Tomlinson and, alas, Steve Smith (Giants).  Even more putrid performances than my Patriots D coming from the Dolphins and 49ers D's of my opponents surely helped matters. In a devastating 0-1 week, what good really is there to say, other than I did have Tomlinson and Owens going for me...  Yeah... :-/ For the rest of the story, hit up the "bitchin'" thread... http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=56;action=display;num=1284317676.

I can not say enough about the QB tandom of Peyton Manning and Phillip Rivers.  They have been incredible all year and have essentially won every week.

And then there is the defensive units of the Steelers and Ravens.  Again, both have been fantastic so far.
(I hope I did not jinx any of the above)

6-1 record in the GBRFL....now I am just anxious that it will be all downhill from here.

Week 7, what more is there to say than, "DARREN McFADDEN!!!"  Since last posting about a month ago, other players who have been serious pleasant surprises:  RB LaDainian Tomlinson, and then what a set of receivers - Hines Ward, Steve Smith (Giants), Dwayne Bowe, Mike Williams (Seahawks), Terrell Owens, and Brandon Lloyd. [smiley=ohshit.gif] Then, I got Michael Vick finally coming back next week.  It'll be interesting moving forward into the second half of the season in the GBRFL! [smiley=yes.gif]
