Raiders 27-Bucs 20. Brown will be the MVP since fore-to-nada won't let us start him.

I have to ask this...

Is there really any way Jon Gruden can lose today?  As I see it, no matter what happens, he is going to get a lot of credit.  He already is.  I understand that he will not admit to something like this.  For him in his mind, a Buccaneers victory is the ONLY way he wins today.  Got that!  But, my question is geared more toward the philosophical, long-term impact, not the obvious NFL-speak answer.

How much will the Barrett Robbins situation negatively factor into things for the Raiders today?  And, what do you think happened?  They say that he is now in a local hospital getting treatment! I would love to hear ugley (Raidah Nation) chime in here and listen to how he feels about Barrett's situation, both emotionally and as it relates to the game.

Tampa 27
Oakland 17

Game stays close thru 1st half. Raiders only score 1 fg in the second half.  Tampa's def proved to be better than Raider offense on this given Sunday.

Brooks, Simeon Rice or Barber are as specific as I can get on MVP. It will be a defensive player.

Poor coaching/game management by Callahan!  Can he not add?  I can understand why he went for the first 2-pt. conversion... to make the game a 24-point game, i.e. 3 touchdowns + 3 2-pt. conversions.  BUT, after they failed in that attempt, why go for one the second time?  Points-wise, they really only need 1 2-pt. conversion from here on out, and they could have made the game a 2-touchdown, 1 field-goal, 1 2-pt. conversion game.  Now they would have to make 2 2-pt. conversions to get within a field goal.  If they actually do make 2 more touchdowns, that would have to mean that they have the momentum.  Why not go after that 1 2-pt. conversion after you've got the momentum?  Not after the second TD, when missing it just takes whatever wind you did have back out of your sails.  It probably is not going to come down to that, but that was still very STUPID!

Hey, did anybody else see the switcheroo Penn and Teller pulled with their pregame prediction?  I know I saw TWO glass tubes being handled there right in the end.  Anyway...

That was a great game. Gannon took more hits today then he did the entire season. It was like a scene out of the Twilight Zone... I couldn't believe my eyes. I must admit, I didn't give the Tampa D enough credit. They were the dominant force on the field today and deserve to be world champions.

I really think I'd I've loved this game even if it wasn't the Raiders on the recieving end of the whoopin'! That it was was icing on the cake. Misery loves company, I guess.

Congrats to the Tampa Bay Bucs and their fans. VERY well done.

My connections don't extend to the NFL or ABC

I think they went with the little "player posing with a lombardi trophy" thingy in lieu of. I liked those.

Just a guess but... Remember last year? The Rams got introduced individually, and then the Patriots came out as one. I remember thinking to myself, "Now that's class." The NFL probably got the same vibes.
