GBRFL2 making history... (not just) the ugly way!

Last week, as you may already know, for the first time in George Blanda Rotisserie League Football history, an overtime game was lost because of an inactive coach. A sub was not picked up or even requested for that matter. Now, this week, a team has a BRUTAL rushing and receiving week, brutal to the degree that the team only accrued 77 total yards rushing and receiving. The thing, though, is that ALL 77 yards were receving. Yes, for the first time in GBRLF history, a team only produced single digits in the rushing category (or receiving category for that matter), that single digit being 0. YYYYYYOUCH! ...

| No, he had EXACTLY 0 yards: -2 + -1 + -2 + 5 = 0. Your comment about the scoring counting "that" as zero doesn't make sense, not just because of what I point out above, but with respect to the GBRFL system.

Well, first off, I wasn't talking smack or inviting it... As league administrator, I was just pointing out some very interesting occurrences that, in these cases, happen to be negative. In any case, I'm not really into this idea now or for the foreseeable future, not just because it is MORE WORK ON ME (ironic), but mainly because it's a bit silly, pointless and illogical, especially now and in the early years of the GBRFL2. For example, taken to its logical extreme, i.e. not that this is AT ALL the case here, you have "League A", a league comprised of 10 hardcore, evenly-matched, long-term fantasy footballers, all of whom either knew each other well personally coming in or have come to know each other very well over YEARS and YEARS; then, you have "League B", a league comprised of 1 hardcore, top-notch fantasy footballer and 9 idiots, all of whom just met on the internet (again, I am going to the extreme here to make my point). Surely, the 1st Place team in "League B" should be WAY better than the 1st Place team in "League A". But, SURELY "League B" is a FAR INFERIOR league. Now, I know you are suggesting that we play down the whole line (WHICH IS MORE WORK FOR ME (ironic)), but still... What's the point? Bragging rights! Most of the guys in the GBRFL don't even hang out here very much, including the guy currently in 1st Place... Oh, so then, if I get beat or the GBRFL gets beat, I can take the brunt from you guys. Oh, gee, that sounds like fun: I work my ass off and all you guys get to give me shit... about a competition that is ultimately quite meaningless. Oh, and if the GBRFL wins, oooo, ahhhh, I, not the rest of the guys because they're for the most part never around and wouldn't give a shit anyway, get to smack-talk you guys, something I won't do and don't even want to do. What this could lead to is dudes feeling that their league is the lesser league, and there is NO reason for anybody in either of our leagues here to feel "bad" about their league, that it's inferior or whatever! The GBRFL guys have been going at this in this system for 11 years. You guys are just over a half year in. TWO TOTALLY different sets of circumstances that are not directly comparable in any way, shape or form. Ultimately, this ain't happenin' and I have no desire to trash-talk across leagues like that. I don't think such a competition results in anything positive, especially for me.

| Thanks for the vote of confidence Steg, I appreciate it. But the other 9 guys in the GBRFL2 aren't that bad.

Here's one for the books for sure! Since 1999, when I took (back) over (full) administration of the GBRFL AND launched the GBRFL web site, we have only had 3 overtime games, 1 in '99, 1 in '00, 1 in '01, and none in '02 (and none thus far in '03). In this, the inaugural season of the GBRFL2, you guys have ALREADY produced TWO overtime games. MOREOVER, the winner of BOTH is the same guy, Jim O'Dell a.k.a. BarnabyWilde, owner of "Killer Eggplants"! This is ABSOLUTELY UNPRECEDENTED! Congrats, dude,... I guess!
