Do we have "expanded" rosters off-season?

The recent trade between Dogs of War and the SmackDown Clowns created a bloated roster for said Clowns    .  He's now got 23 on the roster.

Are we allowing that?  Or does he have to release 2 of them to stay at legal roster size?

I'd be willing to give a "grace period" in which a team had 4-7 days to trade or release the extra players, but just wanted to know if we have a precedent on this kind of thing.

I think he's allowed. Otherwise Steg would have said something when the trade happened.

Say the word and I'll happily drop two scrubs! Purple, I asked that question when the trade went down...I think that since no-one can pick them up yet anyway it probably doesn't matter much...but I'll do whatever is needed.

Actually, after thinking about this for only a few seconds after my previous post...it could be summized that I unfairly have 2 extra bargaining chips in any future trade scenarios. It seems that maybe if you make a trade like I did and your roster busts the 21 man point, you should have to drop the excess players at the same time you make the trade. That seems sensible to me.

Actually, I think you only have to be at the correct roster size when you submit your week one lineup, meaning that you don't have to drop any players now.  Of course when you submit your keeper list, it will be the appropriate size and then you won't have to worry about having extra players.

This is the angle I was coming from.   But it really doesn't matter too much, I was just a bit curious.

You are correct in saying that you have until the time the keeper lists are due.  One team can have 30 players, it does not matter because when the keeper lists are submitted, everyone has to be at the correct roster size.

You don't have an unfair advantage. While you might have an advantage with 2 extra bargaining chips, everyone else has the opportunity to expand their rosters through trade as well, so there's nothing unfair about it.

Uneven rosters are allowed during the offseason, as Double D pointed out, up until cuts.

Please,... no "on the spot" (attempts at) rule making,... cp!  (That's how mayhem creeps its way into fantasy leagues and ruins them.)
