Dear GBRFLers,
I am here, in full humility, to make good for a wager that was placed prior to the kick-off of the 2002-03 season.
When Joe Parsons was trying in vain to deal Travis Taylor prior to the draft, he approached me several times in hopes of making a deal - Taylor for my first round pick (or a combination of sorts). After multiple hours and conversations, I still refused and went so far as to say Peter Warrick would turn out to be a far better receiver than Taylor for the upcoming year. The bet was born and the outcome was for the owner with the receiver with lower production to post a glowing report of the other owner. The results, sadly, are listed below:
Travis Taylor

While the only major difference between the two in production is a mere 263 yards, I will hold true to the bet. Here I am now to post said report:
Joe Parsons - Man, Myth, Legend
Animus. Coleopterous. Fossiliferous. Mordent. Sebaceous. These are words that can be found in a dictionary. But when you delve into the prowess of Joe Parsons the owner, one need not look in a dictionary, but rather at the ability to judge talent — namely Travis Taylor.
As an owner, Parsons clearly understood early the impact of Travis Taylor and his ability to make or break a fantasy football season. While Taylor this year showed the cracks and strain of producing for a team that underachieved offensively, he kept putting his two best feet and hands forward each and every catch: 869 yards, 61 receptions, 6 touchdowns. Character and valor were the keys to Taylor's season, and Owner Parsons had the fortuitousness to project this greatness.
As a good owner is wont to holding sound investments, a great owner tries to capitalize — and Parsons is no exception. Unable to procure a reasonable transaction (or a first round pick) for Taylor prior to the 2002 draft, Parsons was forced to release the nimble, agile Taylor in order to protect higher investments (ed. note: some owners scoffed at the offer of Taylor, saying other receivers, including Peter Warrick, would be better. That said owner is now refusing to comment on this story.)
With his Taylor taken leave, Parsons was left with a shell of a team — a fantasy football group with the ability to gain statistics but void of heart, soul and six touchdowns. The season of 2002, for all intent and purposes, was on the brink of destruction before a kick-off had even taken place.
Downtrodden but not bereft of hope, Parsons crawled from the Taylor-less fog a re-born fighter in search of truth. In a flurry of transactions, trades and late-night bartering, Parsons finally brought the life, heart and soul back to his team. On December 10, 2002 (date made up for effect), Parsons made the deal heard round the GBRFL — Travis Taylor was to finally return to the place he could call home. The rest is GBRFL fantasy history.
While Taylor is now on the blocks again (by the way, so is Warrick) Joe Parsons is once again on the prowl — and the fast track — to find the next great #2 or #3 receiver. And as he proved with Taylor, he is just the GBRFL owner to do it.
