Having the draft in July and even early August sucks.  So how about August 14th???  Any conflicts at this point.

Well, guys, my picture has become much more lucid.  Here are the dates we are looking at; I think you all will be happy with the timing:

Saturday, August 14th or Sunday, August 15th

OR

Saturday, August 21st or Sunday, August 22nd

OR

Saturday, August 28th BUT NOT Sunday, August 29th

Also, I cannot do it on Saturday, August 7th or Sunday, August 8th!

You all???

Actually (unfortunately) the day I said was good, August 14th, is now NOT good.  Usually I have very few conflicts, but this Summer is crazy.  Anyway, at this point the other days that Steve suggested in August are good for me.  The weekend of the 21-22 would be nice and close to the start of the season.

Wow Randy Johnson just finished a perfect game as I am typing this.  Unreal.

August 14th works for me also. Maybe if we nail this down now we can finalize it.

Yes it is Steg. I only read the post that popped up on the screen, I did not scroll down. No biggy.

That changes things now that I realized I screwed up. I will get back to you guys on this. I'm not sure when my league will have our draft. We were looking at both of those weekends also.

My preference (in descending order and removing the 14th as DB can't go on that day) - August 21st, August 22nd, August 15th, August 28th.

Thus, my vote - August 21st (if that gets ruled out for some reason, just go down my list).

I spoke with DT by phone today.  He told me that his first choice is Saturday, August 21st.  He is flexible, though, and could make any of the dates mentioned work if need be.

Also, he has a new e-mail address.  It is up on the "Owner Information" page at the site.

We need to get this locked down soon. I have several trips to CA looming, but I can schedule around the draft if I know ASAP.

Thank you for your consideration.

I plan to ride with Steve Warner again this year if taht is ok with him.
My vote is the 21st also. Since I will be with Warner it will be a day trip for both of us.

This is great that we can schedule this so far in advance.

Guys, just when we thought we could "call it a day" (so to speak) here, a bone hath been thrown into our plans!!!  I just spoke to Doug, who no longer can access the site from work and has only limited (time to) access the internet at home, today and he informed me that he will be away in Florida from Friday, August 20th until Friday, August 27th and will be UNavailable to be contacted by phone on Saturday, August 21st.  This surely throws a wrench in our once well-laid-out plans!  Of course, he could submit a paper list, but we know that is not at all what we want to have happen.  As such, I am going to open things back up.  Do know that we do NOT have to change a date just because one person cannot attend, but I am going to make this next presentation as if we would as that seems like the right thing to do; also, in light of this new news I am going to open up an earlier weekend that I know you guys will not be all too keen on, but, well, we got to do what we got to do...  So, I am going to "reset" this sort of; here is what we are working with:

Saturday, July 31st or Sunday, August 1st
(Sorry, guys, but I got to at least put it out there.  These dates are now a no-go due to Rob Pak as per my message below.)

Saturday, August 7th or Sunday, August 8th
(I am away and canNOT participate in any way, shape or form.)

Saturday, August 14th or Sunday, August 15th
(As we know, DB is a no-go for the 14th.)

Saturday, August 21st or Sunday, August 22nd
(Doug, we now know, is away through this weekend.)

Saturday, August 28th or Sunday, August 29th
(Though I say that the 28th could work for me, classes start on Monday, August 30th and besides that I will be MOVING, which we all know is hell in and of itself, no less a fairly long-distance move down to D.C. that I will probably have to do all alone and a tight, rushed-up one at that, trying to do IT ALL in a way that I do not have to pay an August rent and with school bearing down on me that week and I, in general, will be amidst a MAJOR "life" transition during this time; so, really, this whole weekend is not good for me.)

Saturday, September 4th or Sunday, September 5th
(Well, yous wanted it late...  I would actually prefer these dates to the weekend prior even though it would be my first full weekend down in D.C. and I would have to come up.)

So, where do we go from here?

Of the currently available dates for EVERYONE, my order of preference would be as follows:

Sunday, August 15th, Sunday, August 1st, Saturday, July 31st,
Saturday, September 4th, Sunday, September 5th and (a distant last) Saturday, August 28th

Sundays do not work for me, as I wont be able to make it up there due to the 18 hour day that it would require for me to make it. If it is on a Sunday, then I will just do it from home and see you guys next year.
As far as the other Saturday dates, I'm still open since my league has not settled on a draft date yet either.
I will go with what works for Steve Warner.

I spoke with Pakdude tonight and he said that the weekend of July 31st/August 1st is out for him (I will revise the above).  He doesn't know about the Memorial Day weekend dates in September.  Both Sunday, August 15th and Saturday, August 28th work for him.  So,...?

Steve, you meant August 15th or August 28th, right?  Or, were you expressing your "feeling" with a little jocularity?

At this point I can be flexible, but again, the earlier we set it in stone the better. My vote goes to a Saturday as well though. I would like to hear all about the road trip with the Steve/Joe/Steve sandwich coming up 95.

Well, we are narrowing things down further... AGAIN!  I spoke with Danny today.  He is quite limited.  His preferences are as follows:

Sunday, August 15th and Saturday, August 28th.

The Labor Day weekend days are not at all good for him.  Erin, his wife, is due to give birth to their first child on September 1st.  To wit, that is also why he prefers the 15th to the 28th.

...

So, here is how things stand...

I would actually prefer these dates to the weekend prior even though it would be my first full weekend down in D.C. and I would have to come up.  This is a no-go for Danny.)

It really looks like Sunday, August 15th is going to be our day (I know that would be MUCH BETTER for me... and Danny), but we'll keep it open for a little longer.  Perhaps we are looking at a smaller gathering this year.  Oh, well!  That's just the reality of trying to get 10 different lives on the same page.

I spoke with Doug this morning.  He told me that he could make it so he could be available by phone on Saturday, August 21st, the original date we were really coming together on!

I will now revise the post right above to re-include the 21st!

...

For me, personally, I am ambivalent with regards to doing it on Sunday, August 15th or Saturday, August 21st.  I LIKE THEM BOTH EQUALLY!  I really just don't like Saturday, August 28th.  So, from my perspective, from there, it is up to you guys.
