I think the question is what Mark could have gotten back had he shopped Zeke Elliot around. I suspect he could have made a more lucrative deal. I didn't actively pursue it but when I did get an inquiry about a lottery pick, I immediately offered a star player. I think I will regret not being more aggressive once the lottery was concluded. I guess I thought the price would be too high.

| Wow! That is (another) shocker, at least given what I thought Mark's m.o. was. I should not say any more than that as it starts getting into strategy, so I will shut up.

| Confirmed from New Mexico! Sorry to be a tough connection during the draft. As it stands, the family and I will be out and about during the draft. Good news is right now, connection is great. So, if texting me picks will work with everyone, I should be fairly quick in getting back with my pick. If I run into a situation where coverage is bad, I will forward my list so there is not a delay in the draft.

Hmm. This whole shuffling of picks is fascinating. I'm not quite sure why Steg thinks he needs to keep so mum about strategy, especially since he's not picking in the first round -- we're all big boys here, we've all done our homework -- so I will say this: perhaps more than any other year, not just who is picked when but what kind of player is picked when is up in the air, in my mind. I'm betting that, more so than usual, many of us have wildly varying rankings of the top 20. It being, assuredly, a mediocre draft class makes it all the more interesting. |
