"Throw me the ball!"

Yo!  Whassup guys.  Can't say I was ever big enough to really hang with the big boys in football, so I usually ran down the sidelines hoping no one would cover me and maybe I'd get the ball.  And we've often watched a game and seen the wide-open receiver and screamed at the screen for the QB to give it up, as well as the receiver jumping up and down cause he was open.  Well, it seems there's one receiver who will have none of those worries...Randy Moss!  Word is he's expected to get up to 15 or 16 tosses a game.  HUGE.  Hats off to the guy who's got him on your fantasy team.  Your thoughts...will it be as big a year for him as experts are saying...?

They may try to get him the ball that many times and that would be crazy if he could get that many.  But, 15 catches over a 17-game schedule.  That's 255 catches.  Not happening!  I guess 15 throws does not necessarily mean 15 receptions.  Also, I think what exactly was stated in the article to which you are referring is 15 touches, including rushes and perhaps returns.  THAT may just happen and, if so, would equal a huge season.  I do think, at any rate, he is in store for a 2,000-yard+ season in '02!  I considered taking him first in FFToday's Mock Draft #1 over Faulk, believe it or not.  Ultimately, I could not justify taking any receiver over a running back that early.

Peter King of Sport Illustrated as said a number of times in print recently that 2K Yards and 20 TD is not out of the question or unreasonable for Moss this season.
 
It won't be quite that much, but it is going to be in that high end Neighborhood.
 
If there is a player with a chance to be more valueable than a Healthy Faulk this season, It is Randy.  I seriously doubt that would happen, but no one else will even have the opertunity to out perform Faulk.

Moss will have a nice year, but not record breaking ...  
I see him somewhere in the realm of 13TDS and 1400 Yards.

I got Moss this year.  So that means he'll be Injured in pregame warm-ups week one or something of the sort...  
 
Anyway, I'm psyched.  But everyone knows that Tice intends to make him a bigger part of the offense.  No matter how good he is, double (and triple maybe?) coverage will prevent him from the 2000/20 projections.
 
I figure about 1500/15 (which is sweet nonetheless) is more realistic.
