http://www.miami.com/mld/miami/sports/football/nfl/miami_dolphins/400481 9.htm Quote:Robert Edwards has been named the third-down back and will likely play in the two-minute offense, both he and starting running back Ricky Williams said Wednesday. The Dolphins had planned to use Williams in all situations, but Williams said he didn't mind the change. ''Norv [Turner] just said that with a guy that talented, we've got to find a way to get him on the field more,'' Williams said. ``You can't keep him on the bench.'' Edwards, who missed the past three seasons after a traumatic knee injury, had the opposite role as a Patriot rookie: He was the halfback on run downs and came out in passing situations in favor of Derrick Cullors. ''It lets me be out there and know that I'll be part of the action,'' said Edwards, who had 35 catches for 331 yards and three receiving touchdowns as a rookie. ``I can't really even put it in words what it's going to feel like.'' Last season, Travis Minor was Miami's third-down back. |
| Probably the Biggest point of Interest is that Edwards might take over in the 2 Minute Offense, giving him more opertunities to score. If you are a Ricky Owner, don't worry about him, He'll still touch the ball 30 some times a game. He loses no real value. But if for some reason you are holding Minor as a Back up, cut him out right. Robert Edwards is clearly the #2 back for Every sitsuation in Miami Now.
