Eagles Weekly Report

I'll try to do this every week.  I don't know if we have anyone else in the Philly area here or not.

QB: Donovan McNabb
A serious #1 QB in any league.  Some question his supporting cast, but he always gets fantasy points.  Look for even more this year as the O-line has another year together and even more chemistry.  The WR and RB situation is better as well.  He underperformed in preseason and always seems to take a quarter or two to really warm up (sound like a QB in GB?).

225 passing yards, 2 TD, 0 INT.
45 rushing yards.

RB:  Duce Staley, Dorsey Levens, Brian Westbrook
It's RBBC in Philly with Staley getting most of the work early in the season.  All three RBs showed flashes in preseason and all will get PT in the game.  Staley worth a spot as a 2nd RB or Off Flex.  Cecil Martin is the only FB on the entire team now.  Will be a serious blocking back who gets 2 touches a game.

Staley: 50 rush yds., 60 rec. yds., 1 TD
Levens: 25 rush yds., 10 rec. yds., 0 TD
Westbrook: 10 rush yds., 10 rec. yds., 0 TD

WR: James Thrash, Todd Pinkston, Antonio Freeman, Freddie Mitchell
Again, too many hands reaching for the ball.  Eagles passing offense spreads the ball around unlike any other.  No starters here yet.  It will take a few weeks before Freeman emerges as the #1 target.

Thrash: 20 rec. yds, 0 TD
Pinkston: 50 rec. yds, 1 TD
Freeman: 20 rec. yds, 0 TD
Mitchell: 10 rec. yds, 15 rush yds, 0 TD

TE: Chad Lewis
A solid starter in any league that requires a TE.  He is always a check-down for McNabb and gets 3-5 catches a game.

40 rec yds, 0 TD.

Kicker: David Akers
Arguably the best kicker in the league.  Won't get as many XP opps as Wilkins or Vanderjagt, but can nail the FGs consistently from 55-in.  He's a good tackler too!

2-2 XP, 1-1 FG

Defense
A studly #1 defense in any league.  Start 'em if you have 'em.  There are legit questions about their interior D-line and their best DB (Vincent) appears to be doubtful for the Titans game.  The Eagles are stocked in the backfield and have a solid LB corps.  DEs can get upfield in a hurry and (along with DT Simon) are good for 2-3 sacks a game.  They hit hard and are ball-hawks.  They'll allow some rushing yds to Eddie George, but they are awfully stingy inside the 20.

--Well, there you have it.  I personally think they might lose this game against the Titans, but there are 4 good starters on the Eagles this week.
