RB Help?

In my league you start two RBs each week.

My roster looks like this:

Holmes, Henry, Duckett (with the first two being the obvious starters)

Someone released Clinton Portis this week.     Is he worthy of my RB reserve spot over Duckett?

That is a tough one but I would pick up Portis. His upside is huge. I have him in both of my leagues. I believe in a couple more weeks he should be getting the majority of the carries.

I too would take Portis. He will be ther starter by week 5. His upside is Huge. Gary can't get it done, and Shanny has little patience.

I want both of them! Do you have roster requirements which allow only so many players at one position. If not, get them both and leave your ass in the wind on a anonther position.

They both have the potential of being starters on good offenses.

Paul brings up a good point - what does the rest of your team look like and do you have roster restrictions?

Current roster:

QB: McNair, T. Green
RB: Holmes, Henry, Duckett
WR: R. Moss, J. Morton, Q. Ismail, Freeman, Dyson
TE: Shockey
K: Feely
Def: Bears, Chargers

I have to have enough starters each week (QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, K, Def).  Reserves can be whatever I want.  I guess Freeman and Dyson are the most expendable.  I can't imagine starting either Duckett or Portis over my #1 and #2 unless there is a bye.  But I guess everyone else sees a huge upside for Portis instead of RBBC.

Read last nite Portis will get more carries each week leading me to think Shanny will make him the feature back in the near future.  I have stashed behind Dunn just waiting for him to live up to his potential.

I'd definitely drop either Freeman or Dyson for Portis.  Probably keep Freeman.  Dyson will not be #1 over Mason and Ten will return to more of a ball control offense with Eddie healthy this year.  Freeman should be the solid #2 in Philly soon (a good passing offense).

Definately get Portis

Definately Keep Duckett

You can cut any number of WRs to do it.  Unless you start 5 WRs each week, you are never going to need to play half your WRs, doesn't really matter which one you cut because of that.  Just look at your bottom 2 WRs, and cut one.

I would select Freeman, but you could go with Dyson, it doesn't rally matter in the greater scheme, as you can go all season without ever starting either.

Whichever one you can trade away is most likely the way to go.

I dropped Freeman and picked up Portis.  I chose to get rid of Freeman because the Eagle offense tends to spread the ball around to everyone so no one player (other than QB) will get points consistently.

Thanks for your help everyone!

OK - It's me again with another question about my RBs...

I have Holmes, Henry, Duckett, & Portis.

Which two do I start this week?

I will definitely start Holmes despite the bad matchup.

It does look tempting to start Duckett against the Bing-gals but I think Henry will get a share of what should be a ton of points in Den.
