"Red Zone Players of the Week" - Week 4

WEEK 4

"Red Zone Players of the Week" are simply to be ONE player from each of the FIVE skill positions, QB, RB, TE, WR, PK.  Just list ONE for each position, no stats projections necessary.  Let's keep it simple for the newbies!  Also, I do not always want to be "the first" guy posting on these type things.  So, I would like someone else to chime in first.  I will give the basic template/pattern I want you to use.  Again, PLEASE follow it closely for the newbies.  THANKS!

Here is the pattern to follow (cut and paste it if need be):

QB - ...
RB - ...
WR - ...
TE - ...
PK - ...

(Of course, the addition of SMILIES is always cool! )

QB-Aaron Brooks
RB-Fred Taylor
WR-Randy Moss- before you laugh and call me a moron
here is why (assuming he will play Sunday which I think he will).  Vikes play a team that is as bad as they are in Seattle.  The game is on Sunday Night Prime Time Moss has always had big games in Prime Time. Moss loves attention and he will certainly have it this Sunday (okay laugh at me and call me a moron)
TE-Randy McMicheal

You may very well be right.  If he plays he might get his mind into the game to avoid thinking about felony time.

Philly,  curious why you picked Ed.  With Troy Brown banged up I may have to start Ed or Chrebet.  Bills/Broncs could be a shoot out, but I think Vinny will throw all day to try and catch up.  I don't see either option as a no brainer.

QB - Kurt Warner (not so obvious anymore)
RB - Michael Pittman (going against Cincy with Alstott allegedly in Chucky's doghouse, finally has breakout game)
WR - Donald Driver (big week, especially if Glenn has to sit)
TE - Tony Gonzalez (contrary to what seems to be popular opinion, considering Miami's rush and pass defense, the Chiefs NEED Tony to open things up, and Miami does have a tendency to "let up" when on the road)
PK - Morten Andersen (can't be Vanderjagt this week)

McNabb - 282 yardss combined a TD with 1 INT... no too bad!
McCallister - 128 yards combined and a teeder... good day!
Holt - 106 yards, no touchdown though... still decent!

Though I think it is the healthy thing to do and I appreciate it, I don't know if I am on board with some of this self-criticism.  I am just surmising that it is due to the, in my opinion, skewed outlook a straight performance-based scoring system or starting lineups that are too small lend themselves to.  In such instances, guys who have "MONSTER" weeks, like Shaun Alexander did this week, can make their team pretty much invincible and cause them to, I know this may sound whacky, exert TOO MUCH influence on a "fantasy" game and, as a result, be overvalued.  Some of the guys who were chosen as "Red Zone Players of the Week" and are now being considered weak choices (by the guys who made the choices, granted), i.e. Joe Horn, Deuce McAllister, Tory Holt and Donovan McNabb, had fairly solid outings actually and such should be reflected in your fantasy game.  Here we go with Steggie swatting around with his "bailiwick" again, but in the GBRFL, a 10-team league, we use a Head-to-Head "Categorized" scoring system with DEEP starting lineups, comprised of 2 QB's, 3 RB's, 3 RC's (including TE's), 1 PK and 1 DU/ST.  No, Joe Horn did not score but a fairly measley 8.7 points in a straight performance system, which is worsened if you have small starting lineups, but the truth is an 87-yard outing is not to be scoffed at.  That's a decent day.  He made for a GREAT #2/3 receiver this week in the GBRFL.  Listen, for all intents and purposes, three players, in particular, had ABSOLUTE MONSTER weeks this past week, RB Shaun Alexander, TE Tony Gonzalez and QB Trent Green with honorable mention to guys like QB Rich Gannon, WR Jerry Rice and TE Todd Heap (as far as TE's go).  But, those were not the only performances worth noting... or, moreover, worth having chosen for your "Red Zone Players of the Week".  Expand ye' horizons, my fellow fantasy footballers!  You are doing a helluva' job with these picks. THANKS AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
