2nd RB, opposite Alexander , who do you choose? I'm actually leaning toward Duckett. I heard he might be starting. Any truth to that?

I would go with Duckett, as well.  I honestly think that Eddie's career unfortunately is winding down.  Perhaps, it could be due to the lack of a solid fullback in front of him, but I really think his foot is messed up and affecting his play.  I think this to be the case especially given his "head-on" style of running.  Eddie has been a great warrior, but it is 2002 and I would go with the young up-and-comer.

I too would play Duckett. Eddie has more than just foot problems. The OL is not what it used to be...Mathews retiring...FB issues as Steve said, and his # of carries. Try to deal him and a wr for a younger rb if you can. I like Eddie and would have him as a reserve, but i hope he still has a few yrs left in his tank. He is a class act.

Duckett might start over Warrick Dunn in Week 6. "We've got to look at that and evaluate it," coach Dan Reeves told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

There ya have it.  One player on the rise, another on the decline.  With Vick banged up, the Falcons will probably want to rely a bit more on their running game and Duckett should get some more opportunities.  Even if Dunn gets time, when he gets near the endzone, TJ will get the calls.

George hasn't even looked like the best back in Tennessee and that pass-d isn't keeping them in any games.  That said, I think we're all jumping on Duckett a little early.  I know he's poised for a "breakout" week, but I think George is much more likely to go for 80 yards and a couple scores if the Titans are in it.

I'd give Duckett 1 more bench week to see what's going on.  I know Reeves said he'll get more carries, but I don't like the idea of 7-8 guys in the box cuz Johnson is the QB.

I kind of have to back-peddle here.  In my endless pursuit of thoroughness, I pretty much misread your question, PA.  I thought it was a question regarding who to acquire (via a trade) to become your 2nd running back, not simply who to start this week, which is actually what the question states if you do not try to read between the lines like I did. Anyway, given that, I am basically with Razz.  By a hair, I would probably go with George this week at home against the Jaguars over Duckett at the New York Giants.  But, again, only by a hair!  These are BIG games for ALL teams involved.  As such, I think they will end up being defensive slug fests, actually, regardless of the defensive rankings of the four teams involved.  I expect low scores all around, but I think the Tennesse-Jacksonville game has a little more potential to be higher scoring.

Doh!  I misread that too.  I was thinking that you were going to pick one of these guys up.  I don't think Duckett gets the start yet no matter what Coach Reeves says.  Giants have a tough defense so go with George.

Thanks for catching that Steg!  I guess I was reading between the lines too...

Hey Outlaws- Here I am. You should have traded Eddie when you had the chance. I would start Duckett this week and trade Eddie to the Wave!

No way I would start Duckett this week.  His time will come, but it's not now.  The problem is, the Giants are not a good team to attempt a grind-it-out style game plan against. They rank as the 8th best rushing defense in the league, allowing only 88 yards per game on the season, and are 5th over the last four weeks, surrendering a mere 81 yards per game. They are more generous in terms of points allowed to opposing fantasy running backs, at #17 on that list.

It's hard to run the ball effectively when the defense doesn't have to respect your passing game. Doug Johnson probably will not provide much of a threat to the Giants on Sunday, and New York is excellent at stuffing the run. T.J. Duckett's big per-carry average will likely suffer a hit on Sunday.

I'd go with George.  I don't like the play of George, but Duckett is just not the answer this week.

Tough one......Duckett is emerging, and I too have heard that he will get more carries this week.  I agree though that the Giants Run-d is tough, but I look on the other hand at George, and I see him being taken out of the game plan early by the Titan's woes on D, and he hasn't been getting the passing yards either this year.  I have to go with Duckett on this one.
