What is up with M. Rob?

Is there anybody out there who is an avid Bears fan or is able to watch Bears games on a regular basis and can tell me what the fuck is up with Marcus Robinson?  Have the injuries just taken their toll on his body and is he just not the player he once was?  Or, is he just not getting many looks?  If so, why?  Are the Bears holding him back precautiously?  Is he not really 100%?  Is he just buried on the depth chart (which would indicate that he is not really himself)?  How much do you think those VERY UNlofty (= easily attainable) contract incentives are factoring into the equation?

Bottom line, is it time to cash in the chips on the guy and look elsewhere?  Is this guy just dead weight on a fantasy roster at this point?  PLEASE, if you know "da Bears," speak up and tell me if I should continue to hold my piece (no, not that "piece" you gutter-minded ies)?

May want to hang on to him a little longer because David Terrel is out for the next four weeks and he may get some looks now.  Can't believe that I'm helping you out.

Just a guess, but I think he may return to form with Chandilier at qb.  I looked for him on the waiver wire and he had already been picked up.

Even with Chandler back there and David Terrell injured, he's still #3 on the depth chart with a rather poor offense.  I guess hold onto him this week but I'd cut him loose unless he puts up some very good #'s.  My league starts 40 receivers, and nobody's even sniffing at him.

Fuckin' jackass!

That was funny, though.  I'll take it that you are suggesting that I should hold on to him for one more week as he goes up against a porous Minnesota secondary this week.

Does anybody else have a take on Marcus Robinson?  I just want to know, as per my original post, if he is even the same player anymore.  Is he just not that good of a player anymore because of the injuries?

Well, considering his last injury kept him from even practicing until what, a week ago?  Then you've got booker who's looked very good and David Terrell who is developing... Couple that with the fact he's got Chandler/Miller throwing to him there's about 50-55 guys I'd rather have than MRob.

But that's just my opinion.  I didn't think Bledsoe/Moulds/Price would be doing what they're doing this year either.

Well, M-Rob finally had a decent week. Only 3 catches, but a nice 44 yd td. Is this a one shot deal, or a sign of better things to come?

Any takes?

Probably a one-shot deal.  Keep in mind they face a decent defense in the Rams next MNF.  Miller is out and Chandler is back in.  He has 15 catches on the year.  Your better receivers will get that many in two games.  Booker is still the go-to-guy.  The Bears have lost 7 in a row. Anthony Thomas is improved over the past couple games.

I wouldn't waste my time with him.  Let me know if you need more reasons.

For Christ's sake, it was on a trick play!  His primary competitor for balls on the team, WR Marty Booker, threw the pass.  Outside of that play, what was he?  2 for 20-some yards! Definitely an occurrance that will not be witnessed often, if again, at least this year!

Well, ripped right off "the Gridiron Newsstand", here is what the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting:

"The Bears also are set to release wide receiver Marcus Robinson, who is due a $500,000 roster bonus in July and has a salary-cap figure of $3.8 million next year."

I am not going to link to the whole piece as that is all that was said regarding Robinson.

So, who do you guys think gives M. Rob a chance?  And, what do you think are his chances of success?  You are welcome to incorporate answers to the original queries of this thread in those answers!

Anybody waiting for MRob to come back would have better luck waiting for Dan Fouts to make a comeback.  Guys, the man has had major back and knee injuries!  This is the NFL - not for long.  He is toast.. great potential wasted but find someone else...
