EAGLES Week 10 Analysis

The Eagles made it through their letdown week with a win over the Champaign Bears. Now they face an enigma of a team in the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts have always had a strong offense with their triplets (Manning, James, and Harrison). But this year they have struggled to maintain their offensive excellence. Tony Dungy came in to help the defense and has not done so to this point. Their rushing defense is one of the worst in the league. The Colt passing defense is ranked #2 in the league, although only Cincinnati faces less pass attempts than the Colts. Why pass when you can run? The Colts are a team desperately in need of a win. The Eagles are in need of a statement win, though the coach would never admit it. The Colts, without RBs James, Rhodes, Williams, & Finn, are using rookie James Mungro this week. It could get ugly early for the Colts. QB: McNabb should look to return to the air this week. The offensive attack has been grounded lately and needs to re-establish itself in the air. RB: The RBs should still have success because of the ineptitude of the Colts rush defense. WR: The return to the air will help the WRs rebound a bit. Freeman will be gimpy if he plays this week. TE: Slowly, but surely, the TE is returning to the Eagle offense. K: Don't expect another monster week like the last, but do expect another steady effort from the best K in the league. Defense: The task is a bit easier this week as the defense can really key on Harrison. He'll still get some catches and open things up for Pollard and Ismail a bit. Manning has shown that he makes mistakes against good defenses. PREDICTIONS: McNabb: 280 PaY, 20 RuY, 3 TDs, 1 INT {30} Staley: 80 RuY, 30 ReY, 1 TD {17} Levens: 15 RuY, 20 ReY {3} Westbrook: 35 RuY, 10 ReY {4} Thrash: 90 ReY, 10 RuY, 1 TD {16} Pinkston: 70 ReY {7} Freeman: 10 ReY {1} Lewis: 50 ReY, 1 TD {11} Akers: 4-4 XPs, 2-2 FGs {10} Defense: 16 PA, 250 Yds, 3 Sacks, 2 INTs *{Fantasy points based on standard performance league scoring} FINAL SCORE EAGLES 38 Colts 16

The Eagles decided to use the Green Bay offense today (Levens, Freeman, and Thomason[TE]) and it didn't work for them other than the TE touchdown. Pinkston actually looked pretty good on a few catches, but Thrash was MIA the whole game. It really came down to the fact that the defense imploded in the first quarter by allowing Mungro to get a 50 yard run right off the bat. Blaine Bishop bit on Manning's pump fakes a number of times allowing the WR to get wide open deep in the secondary for easy touchdowns. I had thought that this would be a statement game because the Eagles were criticized for their lack of offense in wins against the Bucs, Giants, and Bears. The Colts were the ones doing all the talking this week. |

Thanks for the Chiefs props. Outside division opponents, the losses aren't hurting personally as in seasons past. That def, while respectable today, just doesn't lead one to count on anything. Enjoying the hell out of Priest, and hoping for the near future. Don't know if the KC game was on in you're are but priest had 2 very nice plays, 1 a touchdown, called back oh holds, and imo, only one of those holds could be argued to have had any bearing on the run. Legitimate hold calls, just didn't really affect the play. Frustrating!
