The Giants will look to make it three-in-a-row as they host the division rival Washington Redskins this Sunday at Giants Stadium. This is always a brutal week in my household. Myself being the loyal Giants fan, and then there is my wife...the DREADED REDSKIN LOVER!!! Twice a year we butt heads, but this year looks like a good one for me. I guess we shall see... The Giants continue to impress me on offense, primarially their ability to score touchdowns. They had seven after the first seven weeks, but have gone on to score another seven in the last two. Credit Jim Fassel for his play-calling ability and getting Tiki Barber the ball more. Quarterback: Kerry Collins is having his best year as a Giant. He leads the NFC in passing yards with 2,341. He has drastically cut down on his interceptions and fumbles (he set a record last year with 23). The passing game has opened up considerably due to having a good ground game and a tight end who can catch. The Redskins defense, loaded with top name talent, has started playing better each week. They are 7th in the NFC in total defense, giving up 116 yards a game rushing and 195 yards a game passing. Given the fact that the Giants have a depleted reciever corps, Collins will focus on getting the ball to his go to guys, Barber, Toomer and Shockey. Collins: 285 yards passing, 1 int, 2 tds Running Backs: I think Fassel has finally starting using his 2 backs effectively. Use Barber as his primary weapon, and bring in Dayne for a change of pace. It has worked wonders for the offense the last 2 weeks. The running game has to be as good if not better this week for the G-Men to win. Barber: 110 yards rushing, 2 tds Dayne: 45 yards Wide Receivers: Here lies the Giants weakness this week. The only healthy guys they have are Amani Toomer and rookie Daryl Jones from Miami. Ron Dixon is 50-50 on wether he'll play this week. The Giants were so hurting they signed Herman Moore and Tony Simmons this week, as well as Derek Durris from the practice squad. They also will use running back Sean Bennett at wide out too. Whoever plays, someone has to take the heat off Toomer. I think the rookie will step up his game and surprise some people! Amani Toomer: 125 yards, 1 td Daryl Jones: 60 yards Sean Bennett: 25 yards Ron Dixon: 15 yards Tight End: Shockey will play, and will also be looked at to step up his game this week to help out Collins. He will come through with some big third down receptions, and will haul in a td as well!! Shockey: 55 yards, 1 td Final Score: Giants 28, Redskins 24
