New York Giants Week 13 Analysis

Well, I called it. Stupid Giants were primed for a meltdown, and they did not disappoint me. They are now in a must win situation versus another team in a similar boat, the Tennessee Titans. The Titans come in to the Meadowlands with the 16th overall ranked defense, 11th vs the pass (227.7 ypg) and 9th vs the run (101 ypg). The Giants Offense is ranked 12th overall, a surprising 8th passing (239 ypg) and 15th rushing (111.7 ypg)

Quarterbacks:
Kerry Collins still leads the NFC in passing yards (2,766) and may reach 4,000 by seasons end. He needs to play a mistake free game if the Giants are to win. He will concentrate on Toomer and Shockey once again, with Barber as his dump off/safety valve. Herman Moore may get a few more looks this week as well. Look for Kerry to come through big...I hope!

Collins: 290 yds passing, 2 tds, 1 int

Running backs:
Tiki Barber keeps impressing me more and more. He is the Giants best player on offense, and Fassel finally realizes that. He has amassed 1336 yards (883 rushing, 453 receiving) and 6 tds so far this year. The Giants throw Ron Dayne in there as a change of pace with limited results. Dayne seems to run better the more carries he gets, but he won't get many with Barber as the focal point.

Barber: 115 yards rushing, 1 td 40 yds receiving, 1td
Dayne 30 yds rushing

Wide Receivers:
Toomer and Moore will start, with rookie Daryl Jones seeing time in the 3 WR sets.
Ron Dixon is still banged up and is listed as questionable on the injury report. Toomer is having a fine season so far (819 yds, 4 tds). Shockey will see several balls thrown  his way as well.

Toomer: 125 yds, 1 td
Moore: 40 yds
Jones: 30 yds
Shockey: 55 yds

FINAL SCORE: Giants 27, Titans 24

Good work. Tennesee's run def has looked very good some weeks, nothing special at all several others. I like Tiki this week. Good luck.
