New York Giants Analysis: Week 14

Well, after a brief window of opportunity, the Giants have proved to everyone that are not a playoff team. They now need a minor miracle to even smell the playoffs. A win over in Washington will not only make me happy (being that my wife is a Redskin fan) but may put the G-Men back on track to a respectable season.(They possibly can win he next three before the Philly game to end the season). We shall soon see...Fassel is on the Hot   Seat for sure now...

Quarterback:
Kerry Collins yardage wise is still having a terrific season. Touchdown wise, only average at best.  Over 3000 yards passing, but only 12 touchdowns? Most of the other elite quarterbacks are well over 20 td tosses. Kerry needs 2 td's per game over the next four to even reach 20. Can he do it? Maybe. The Giants face Dallas, Indy and the Iggles after Washington this week. Kerry should get his two this week.

Collins: 265 yards passing, 2 td, 2 ints

Running backs:
What the hell happened to Tiki last week? 11 carries, minus 6 yards at the half?   I couldn't believe it. He ended the game with 62 yards and a td, but it was not a typical Barber day. Look for Tiki to bounce back and get the ball often, especially if the weather is bad in DC. Look for Ron Dayne to get about 10 carries as well.

Barber: 90 yards rushing, 1 td 30 yards recieving
Dayne 40 yards rushing

Recievers:
Having Ron Dixon back in the mix helped last week with the Titans shutting down Toomer. Look for a lot of short passes if the weather is bad. Shockey is the key. Collins has to open up the routes for the recievers by getting Shockey the ball.

Toomer: 85 yards, 1 td
Dixon 75 yards
Jones 10 yards
Shockey 65 yards, 1 td

If Fassel wants to keep his job, he better win the game.

DAMN!! Almost nailed the score!!!

Overall, the Giants played a decent game. Collins had no turnovers (an amazing feat) and threw his 2 tds, and Tiki had a solid game as well. Shockey looked real good too.

Next week: The Cowboys!

Nice work BW.  I'd be lying if I said I'm happy you were right though.
