Well, it's the first half (week 1 of two) of our superbowl, and I'm gonna post my lineup (8 teams) and see what you think. The only real headbeater is at RB, where Faulk/Gordon aren't making it easy to pick one. QB PLUMMER, B. JOHNSON, BULGER Warner, Martin, Brees RB FAULK, WILLIAMS, HOLMES, L. JOHNSON, M. SHIPP Gordon, T. Minor, M. Cloud, K. Barlow WR OWENS, STREETS, HORN, BURRESS, DRIVER Conway TE BRADY, POLLARD K Morten ANDERSON D JACKSONVILLE (vs. Cin&Ten), CAROLINA --Dropped Denver cuz they hit KC/OAK Brees sits as long as Conway is out, even if that means playing Plummer. Conway missing time is hurtin and no Faulk is harsh as well. I shouldn't have traded Kitna damnit

Brees' match with Buffalo is too much easier than Jake's against St L. Plus you are going to have two qb/rb combos going. qb/rb combos are not to be avaoided at all costs, but rarely do the running game and passing game both go off big the same week. And you'll doubling down on that? Just something to think about. |

Thanks. I looked harder at Brees vs. Plummer and have decided to stick with Plummer for the following reasons: 1) Plummer is not spectacular, but only twice all year has he put up single digit scores. He's consistently below average. 2) Brees has been especially terrible of late, putting up only *one* double digit week since week 7! I really can't justify starting him on merits, so that leaves matchups and receivers. 3) While I'm gonna start Conway over Streets, Conway gimping definitely hurts Brees. 4) Buffalo's pass defense has actually been pretty decent lately. Further, Brees on the road scares me. 5) The Rams suck. No Aeneas Williams makes that secondary weak and no Faulk/O-Line means they won't be able to run the ball, so hopefully it'll be a high scoring/many possession game. Now, with Faulk sitting out practice on Thursday, I'm tempted to throw in Barlow or Gordon over him. Damn Faulk, he's never left me in the lurch fantasy playoff time before.

Ok, last week I won by 54 points, but since it's a 2 week superbowl if my opponent beats me by 54 points this week he'll win it all. Normally I would laugh at that thought.. But with Priest/Faulk/Johnson/Owens all hurt I'm scrambling to field a team. Here's my lineup, starters in Caps bench below them. QB PLUMMER, BREES, BULGER Brad Johnson (Can't risk a 0) RB WILLIAMS, CLOUD, M. SHIPP, BARLOW (I figure he'll get a lotta touches in a meaningless game vs. Az), CANIDATE Faulk, Gordon, Priest, A. Peterson, L. Betts, L. Johnson WR CONWAY, D. THOMPSON, HORN, BURRESS, DRIVER Owens, (just dropped Streets) TE BRADY, POLLARD K Janikowski D JACKSONVILLE, CAROLINA Immediate help appreciated

I would play Faulk or Peterson over Canidate. I think Canidate is going to lay an egg. No matter what, he will still split carries with TWO OTHER guys, both Faulk and Gordon. Faulk will still want to get to 1,000 yards this season. I think he gets at least half his against a WEAK Seattle rush defense, which should equal at least 75 total yards and a touchdown. Peterson is an intriguing play. I like him and think his carries will increase this week. I think they want to see what the kid can do down the stretch here to see to what extent he can/will be a part of their future, especially given A-Train's "Rashaan Salaam-like" disappointing sophomore performance this season.
