EAGLES Week 16 Analysis (Saturday Night Football!)

The Eagles and Cowboys meet for the second time this season. Their first meeting in Week 3 resulted in an embarrassing loss for the Cowboys (44-13) at Veterans Stadium. Now the Eagles travel to Texas with Super Bowl dreams. The Cowboys are readying themselves for some off-season golf and a new head coach. QB: The Eagles are giving Detmer another week of rest. Feeley has been a solid starter over the past few weeks. He hasn't been spectacular, but he hasn't hurt the team. (Detmer will be holding for kicks once again. Don't be surprised to see him pass out of a kicking formation. The Eagles always seem to have a surprise or two for the Cowboys.) Feeley - 265 PaY, 15 RuY, 3 TDs, 1 INT {27} RB: Staley had a huge game last week. Levens comes into the game a little banged-up, but received a fair amount of work as well. The RBs did not fare as well in the first matchup, with McNabb, Thrash, and Akers accounting for 110 of the 150 rushing yards. The Cowboys gave up 80 each to Tiki Barber and Ron Done last week. Staley - 70 RuY, 70 ReY, 2 TDs {26} Levens - 25 RuY, 40 ReY {6} WR: In the first game, the Eagles outsmarted the aggressive Dallas D by resorting to trickery. Watch for Thrash to get involved with some reverses. The Eagles receivers accounted for 4 TDs in week 3 (Thrash and Freeman with one and Pinky with 2). Freeman also put up his season high with 110 receiving yards. Pinkston - 60 ReY, 1 TD {12} Thrash - 30 ReY, 30 RuY {6} Freeman - 40 ReY, 1 TD {10} TE: Chad Lewis was not much of a factor in the first game and there is no indication that he will be used any more in this game. He'll get you a couple points, but start someone else if you can. Lewis - 25 ReY {2} K: Still the best in the league. If any of you think Mort is better, you're crazy. Should be a must start EVERY week no matter who else you have. 4-4 XP, 2-2 FG {10} Defense: Might give up some yardage at the end of the game in the prevent defense (I hate the prevent!) but will still score some points for you with sacks and takeaways. 10 PA, 270 YA, 5 Sacks, 3 Takeaways FINAL SCORE: EAGLES 34 Cowboys 10 Good luck everyone!

| All I'm hearin' is charlie brown grown-up voices "whawha wha wha whawhwa" Once they ir'd Mort, I picked up Edinger for insurance. Akers is my man! In the league where I only had Mort, the IR move allowed me to pick a replacement and I chose Nedney. But yes, buy a hair, Akers is gonna be the #1 Kicker this year. He's welcome on my roster any time.

Just thought I'd take the opportunity to point out that Eagles made the Pro Bowl. Congrats to: Brian Dawkins, Troy Vincent, Hugh Douglas, David Akers, Bobby Taylor, Tra Thomas, and Jermaine Mayberry. Mayberry has played well this year, but it's still a shock he was selected. Bobby Taylor is another surprise. He covers well, but he has a master's degree from the Deion Sanders School of Tackling.
