How 'bout Holcombe?

What do you guys think about the future of RB Robert Holcombe?  I am aware that the popular perception might be that his numbers are, at least in part, attributable to his being the change-of-pace back who always enters the game with fresh legs.  I don't know about that, though. He does have fresher legs when he comes in, but he is not just given carries on third downs.  He is given whole series and even drives and he performs.  I remember reading something during the preseason that said to watch out for him this year as he fits the Titans offense in a way that Skip Hicks did not.  Basically, they were claiming that Holcombe might just be a younger, less-damaged version of Eddie George.  Do you guys think this guy could be on the verge of exploding (on some team, Tennessee or wherever)?  Or, is he just another Skip Hicks washup, who is merely benefiting by being a reliever?

And, by the way, what rock band is this?

Steg,
I think Holcombe given the chance can certainly run with vigor, remember that Ficher put him in earlier in the season because as he put it, "I needed someone who could hit the hole quicker" That may be the case today, with the offensive line banged up.
By the way is that rock band the Greatful Dead?

I think Holcombe will be better than Skip Hicks.  But Holcombe will always be a solid #2 back.  He put up some nice numbers when he was with the Rams - but only when no one was expecting him to.  I really don't believe he can be the guy you feed the rock to play-in, play-out.

Regarding the band, I was thinkin' of another one.  The Grateful Dead has more members than that, I think!

Any more insights on Holcombe, anybody?

I still haven't figured out why Hicks hasn't caught on somewhere. I real liked what I saw early, much like with Holcombe. I give him as good a shot as anybody to be "their" guy.

Well I might go with the Doors but they only had 1 guitar player, am I to assume that there is a front man that doesn't actually play an instrument?

I've only seen Holcombe play once that I can remember, but he was explosive and I was very impressed. I thought to myself, "Damn, why isn't this guy the starter?" I'm sure coming in with fresh legs has a lot to do with it, but I think #2 backs always want to prove that they could be a #1 if given the chance and play with extra heart.

My bad on the band configuration! I was too focused on the lead singer.  Anyway, you were right.  It was supposed to be "the Doors."  Fantasy football is my game, not "Fantasy Classic Acid Rock Bands."
