Broncos: Elam the punter? Jan 7, 2003 11:16 AM ET The News According to the Denver Post, the best way for free agent Jason Elam to get re-signed by the Broncos is to kick and punt in 2003. "I haven't done it in a long, long time. I did it in college and thought I was very effective," Elam said. "I think I would have to show somebody in the preseason that I'm effective at it, in order to really get a shot at it. But I would love to get a chance." Our View With the Broncos set to be $15 million over the cap, re-signing Elam to a high-dollar deal will be tough. But if he can play two positions, it may alter their thinking. That said, will Elam's leg make it through 16 games of kicking, punting, and kicking off? We would love to see Elam remain a Bronco, but despite this possibility, he's probably done in Denver. Perhaps the Giants will give Elam's agent a call. Elam to the Giants? Could the Giants actually sign a decent Kicker for once?!

Well, Bryant was having a solid year, at one point, I believe he made something like 12/12 FGs. Though, all below 40+ yards. They need a kicker with range, not neccesarily accuracy, though Elam has got incredible range, and accuracy, great upgrade at Kicker for them.
