Ahman Green for Daunte Culpepper?

Fellas-
In a 2 player keeper league, I just traded Ahman Green for Daunte Culpepper. My other reserve is Ricky Williams & I think I can get Eddie George, Tiki Barber, or Fred Taylor as my 2nd RB. How do you guys think I did?

I think you got a steal.  I know others would agree based on some of the other threads here.

The question you have to ask yourself is "are George, Barber, or Taylor better than Culpepper? "   I would say NO.

A...greed (but I think you knew that already based what I had written on the RB-rankings thread)!  Anyway, !  I also dumped Green and think he may very well be in store for a long, ugly '03.  Culpepper, on the other hand, I firmly believe will have a great bounce-back season next year (as per my post on the QB-rankings thread).

???

I have been having a rough bout with logic today. ??? Can someone either explain the above or confirm that it doesn't quite make sense?  I just want to make sure I am not totally losing it!

I would be happy to explain.  Actually, the stats from last year explain it the best.  You also have to factor in the fact that Taylor and George are a in-grown toe nail from IR.  Now here are the stats:

Culpeppers Stats

3853 passing yards  18 passing TD's
608 yards RUSHING   10 RUSHING TD's

Taylor:

1314 yards rushing    8 TD's    408 yards rcv   0 TD

Loses goal line carries.....injury prone.

George:

1165 rushing  12  TD's     255 rcving   2 TD's

George losses TD to McNair.  Injury prone.  Only has two more rushing TD's than Culpepper.

Barber:

1387 yards rushing   11  TD's  597 receiving  0  TD's

Well...Barber only has one more TD RUSHING than Culpepper had RUSHING.

As you can see....Culpepper only had 2 less rushing TD's than the best back above.  That does not account for the 18 TD passes he threw.   Quote:
Culpepper, on the other hand, I firmly believe will have a great bounce-back season next year (as per my post on the QB-rankings thread).
.  I could not agree more.  He only threw 18 this year...how many will he throw next year.   Then you take a look at the yardage RUSHING.  Culpepper ran for 600 + yards.  That is half as many as these running backs from the QUARTERBACK position.   To me, in a KEEPER league, this is a no brainer.

If we we comparing Culpepper to Priest Holmes, Faulk, Tomlinson, or Ricky Williams, it would be a different story.

Hol' up jus a second there Dirk. Remember Stacey Mack is a free agent this season, and chances are, he's moving to a different scenery.

If this is the case, Taylor becomes all the more valuable, hell, he had a fairly healthy season, and didn't play all that bad.
This is the guy that people have always said that, if he stayed healthy, could have been as good as Faulk. There's one in every sport it seems... Grant Hill NBA...., Ken Griffey Jr. MLB....

I got that! It's the logic that's losing me here! ??? I still do not understand why you are comparing Culpepper to those guys.  The trade was Ahman Green for Daunte Culpepper.  Ahman_Williams then just went on to say that he believes he will have a good chance, I suppose in his league's draft, at getting George, Barber or Taylor (to replace Green) as his #2 back behind Ricky Williams, who is his #1 RB and his other keeper (along with Culpepper).  So, with that being the fact of the matter, why are you making the comparisons you are? ???

You are correct Steg. I now have Culpepper & Williams. I will probably be able to get one of those RB's as my #2 in the 3rd round of the draft. Thanks for the thoughts fellas. I can't wait to watch Daunte run over LB's on his way to the endzone.

Ahman_Williams, you just go into your profile and change the way you want your "Name" to appear.  I will go ahead and do it for you this time, but you can change it however and whenever you want to.  I will do it without the lame underscore, "_"! However, it will then closely resemble KJ 76's current one, so one of you, I suppose KJ 76 since I think he was just trying to make a point, is probably going to want to change your name to something else.

One important final note, remember this will not change your "Username".  That will ALWAYS remain "Ahman_Williams".
