What do you guys think of Boston this year? Could he returm to the elite status? I just don't think so! Tomlinson touches the ball at least 40 times a game which is something that never happened in Arizona! Thoughts.....

I know this has been discussed somewhere before, but I'm too lazy to look...

I think Boston will help open up the Charger offense and make Tomlinson and Brees even better, but I think that he will be double-covered often without a solid threat at the #2 WR position (Tim Dwight?  Reche Caldwell?). So Boston will have a solid fantasy year, but he won't be on par with the top 3 WRs.

I agree with Philly.

Boston will bounce back tremendously from last year,(barring injury.) I'd even list him as the #5-#8 top WR next year, statistically.

Any thoughts on this piece currently on "The REAL Feed":  "Bolts getting more DB help, close in on Lassiter"?  Seems like the Chargers really are doing all they can to improve that secondary!  And, ya' know they have the head coach to put it all together!  Anyway, just thought I'd give ya'll, especially those of you that pick team defenses, a heads-up on this.

8's probably as high as I'd put him.  I don't expect him to do better than 8, but I don't expect him to do worse than 11-12, so he's a good, safe pick for WR at 8 IMO.  His TD totals should increase, as Conway got a lot of TD's for SD before he got hurt.  His yards should drop, as he's not the only person on the team that can score (Tomlinson).

Well, the rumor two above regarding the Chargers' pursuit of FS Kwame Lassiter has become reality as per the item currently third on "The REAL Feed"!  They also released SS Rogers Beckett, who was their projected starter.  Here is all the local corroboration from "the Gridiron Newsstand":

http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/chargers/index.html;

http://www.chargers.com/news/headline_detail.cfm?news_key=1209.

Interesting news!  Any takes?

In any event, I hope the information is helpful!

A young defense squad just got the leader they needed in the locker room, Lassiter, which "kind of" fill's the void left by Seau, and also LIKE Seau, Lassiter may have diminished skills, but he's just so good, he's still a top 10 safety.

HOT off "The REAL Feed"...

RB Tomlinson leaves practice with bruised heel
NFL.com (21.08.2003 00:28)
Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson left practice on a cart for the second time in less than a week, this time because of bruised left heel.

No further local corroboration from the greater Gridiron Newsstand yet.

Attention Tomlinson Owners!!!

I just found this on the San Diego Daily Post page... (link below)

San Diego--According to reports from San Diego Chargers officials, the injury to running back LaDanian Tomlinson is believed to be more serious than originally thought.  The initial diagnosis indicated a bone bruise to the left heel.

Further testing located a blood clot in the femurial artery which, if treatment fails, could spell the end to a short-lived, yet prolific NFL career.

Head Coach Marty Schottenheimer expressed his sorrow that such a great player and quality individual should have to face this burden.

"Understandably, LaDanian is quite upset about this news.  We're going to keep running tests and working towards getting this thing solved.  For the time being we'll work Jesse Chatman at starter and hold out hope that LaDanian will be back soon.  We're all shocked by this development and our thoughts right now are with LaDanian and his family."
