Another quote from "The REAL Feed" worth bringing on over to the boards for discussion:

"Colts RB James says he's healthy, ready for great '03
NFL.com (09.06.2003 21:38)
After a subpar 2002 season following major knee surgery, Indianapolis running back Edgerrin James says he is ready to have another Pro Bowl campaign."

I know it is all rhetoric, especially now, but it is a hell of a lot better news coming out of Edge's mouth than we have heard in offseasons past, like, for example his stating last year that he plans to retire early.

Edge has really worked hard in the offseason to regain his status prior to the injury.  He is 100% healthy now and this will be his second season following the knee surgery.  I think Edge will be a top 3 back again this year.  It's still the Colts offense with Manning and Harrison...

Edge, will be a top 3 pick, not this up-coming season though, the next one after that...

I said he would be a top 3 RB this year, not a top 3 pick.  I'm hoping he slips into the 2nd or even 3rd rounds where he will be a HUGE bargain.  If he does produce this coming year, then he will be on everyone's radar again.

Most top RB lists I've seen have him anywhere from 8-15...

I don't think Edge will ever be a top 3 RB again. There are too many other studs RBs in his way. LT, RW, Holmes...IF healthy...Henry, and Mcallister all of whom i think will produce better #s then him.
Just my thoughts.

He ain't on the all-time list because he's pretty.

I like Edge towards the end of the first round.  I think he has as much upside as anyone you will see there.  Preinjury, he had as much talent as anyone in the league, and this is the second year back.

I think the biggest question this year is how Peyton responds to last year.  He could also be a great pick for where he looks to be going.

I agree the upside is there, but this is a vastly different team.  Dungyball and Peyton's INT tendancies make him less intriguing.  I still would like to nab him, but I don't think he can crack top 3 either (at least not this year).

I think he'd be a great pick somewhere in the mid to late 2nd.

From "The REAL Feed"...

Saturday roundup: Edgerrin rests tweaked hamstring
ESPN NFL (16.08.2003 19:18)

The LOCAL corroboration from "the Gridiron Newsstand"...

http://www.indystar.com/print/articles/9/065790-5309-038.html.

The article is not just about the injury.  You have to read through it and you will see where/how they talk about it.
