I am in a league with a squad of 18.  We keep nine.

I elected to cut Kurt Warner and keep Trent Green and Tom Brady.

How mad am I?
???

Of the three, Warner is the one I would've cut too.

Tom Brady is a definite keeper.  He is young and has a good group of receivers and an offensive coach who seems willing to let him keep throwing it.

Trent Green had a very nice year last year... he cut down on his mistakes and threw a lot more TDs.  If Priest Holmes is healthy, he is a great receiver out of the backfield for Green.  There is some receiving talent in KC too if they can play to their collective potentials.

Kurt Warner has proven that he can be the most dominating QB in fantasy football.  He has a great RB in Faulk and solid receivers to throw to.  But Warner has not proven he can stay healthy, neither has his RB, and Isaac Bruce isn't getting any younger.  If Pace doesn't end his holdout soon, there could be some serious questions about the offensive line again too.

It may have been a tough and risky decision, but I think it was a good one.

Thanks for that, Philly.  I feel better now.  My thinking was along the same lines.  The Chiefs are definitely one to watch, so Green could have a pro-bowl year.

How about between Warner, Collins and Brad Johnson? Who would you keep if you had to keep only one?

Hmmm...this is a tough one.  I personally would keep Kurt Warner.  I personally think all three QB's are about the same.  So I would factor in Warners upside in the fact he plays for a fantasy juggernaut.  No matter which one you keep, you can draft the other two players....

I'm just glad I don't have to make this decision.  I can argue why you should keep/drop each one of them...

Warner:
PRO - Huge upside.  Potent offense.  Past performance.
CON - Injury prone.  RB is injury prone.  O-line has holdout.

Collins:
PRO - Toomer, Shockey, Barber.  Wide open offense.
CON - History of fumbles/ints.  Not many TDs.

Johnson:
PRO - Offensive-minded coach.  Doesn't make mistakes.
CON - Unclear RB sitch.  Marginal WRs/TEs after KJ.

With all that being said, I'd probably gamble on Warner this year.  He is the only of the three that has the potential to really be a top-tier QB, while the others are solid second tier QBs.

Totally bonkers.  Warner is healthy and in one of the most explosive offenses in the league - potentially a top 3 QB.  Brady is still suffering shoulder problems.  Green you had to keep - he is playing very well and that offense is really ticking.  But I would have cut Brady over Warner.  With Green you have a solid starter.  Warner has so much more upside than Brady and their risk is equivilent.

A quick addendum to my "seconding" there right above.  Although I think that komments advice is the right advice in light of Brady's current (as in recently made known) injury status (in all fairness, this post was made on August 2nd), Brady, though streaky, did lead the league last year in touchdowns AND I don't think Warner and the Rams will ever be what they once were.  They were the flavor of the year, two/three years ago, but no more.  Defenses have caught up to the "best show on turf" and they're getting old.  One more smack to Warner's hand and in comes Bulger, who will probably make it even more difficult for Kurt to get his job back this time.  Pace's holdout doesn't help matters, either.  So, in conclusion and on second-thought, I DEFINITELY can see keeping Green and Brady and not Warner here, again, especially given the date the initial post was made.
