Let me take a contrarian view. Green IS primed for a big season. But so is Hasselbeck. Between weeks 9 and 17 of last year, Hass was a top 3 QB (of course this depends entirely on scoring system): HAFA X Player Stats =================== 2002 Wk#8 through Wk#17 * indicates the player is available Sort by:Fantasy Points/Passing Yards ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pass Pass Pass Pass Pass Rush Rush Rush FFL # Quarterback NFL Cmp Att Yrds TDs Int Att Yds TDs Pts -- - ---------------- --- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ------ 1 VICK,MICHAEL ATL 163 310 2172 12 8 82 500 6 277.10 2 CULPEPPER,DAUNTE MIN 191 318 2291 11 11 69 423 6 270.85 3 HASSELBECK,MATT SEA 242 382 2897 13 10 36 191 1 269.95 4 MANNING,PEYTON IND 243 365 2616 17 11 28 101 1 266.10 5 KITNA,JON CIN 222 360 2576 15 9 20 51 4 253.80 6 GANNON,RICH OAK 239 359 2641 12 4 30 99 2 252.95 7 PENNINGTON,CHAD NYJ 203 294 2207 19 3 26 37 2 241.15 8 GARCIA,JEFF SF 218 353 2198 15 6 49 219 1 234.80 9 MCNAIR,STEVE TEN 160 276 1916 13 6 59 322 2 225.00 10 COLLINS,KERRY NYG 205 342 2511 14 6 26 1 0 222.45 11 BLAKE,JEFF ARI 165 295 2084 13 11 39 106 1 210.20 12 BRADY,TOM NE 203 341 2015 14 5 32 74 1 205.75 13 GREEN,TRENT KC 151 256 2034 11 5 17 96 1 200.30 Over the last six weeks (12-17), he was the top-rated passer, outscoring Green (in HAFAX scoring) by over 50 points. I find your rankings very interesting... you are very sour on Brady (because of a shoulder injury which I have been unable to find mention of anywhere - link?) and even have Jake Delhomme ahead of him. As you are well aware, Brady lead the league in passing TDs--albeit only 28--last season. There's no reason to think that he can't be as (if not more) successful this year. He has a healthy Troy Brown returning. Deion Branch and Daniel Graham are back with an added year of experience. Bethel Johnson adds speed to an already speedy WR corps. Christian Fauria showed that he is still a weapon in the NE offense. And Kevin Faulk (a much better receiver than Antowain Smith) is getting lots of reps with the first team offense in training camp. I have no dispute with your assessment of Hasselbeck, who I think will have an outstanding season (probably very similar stat-wise to Trent Green). But I think you are overvaluing Warner and short-changing Brady a bit.
