Panthers - Delhomme named starter

Well, unlike some other starters who lost their jobs, ole' Rodney holds on to his, at least entering the season.  Here are all the local reports from "the Gridiron Newsstand":

http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/sports/football/nfl/carolina_pant hers/6666708.htm;

http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/sports/football/nfl/carolina_pant hers/6669327.htm;

http://www.gastongazette.com/Portal/ASP/sports/panthers/PanthersDisplay. asp?ID=415.

I suppose he'll last until he gets hurt as I've pretty much claimed all along (on the offseason Panthers thread) or they start losing, but Delhomme and Weinke will be breathing down his neck, waiting for any opportunity on which to capitalize.  Bottom line, I think if/when Peete gets injured, he's done; his career may even be done.  One of these younger bucks will step up and shine.

How long do you guys think Peete lasts?

Peete lasts until, 1. he gets injured, 2. the Panthers are out of the playoff hunt.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that he makes it the whole season and Carolina makes the playoffs.

I think Carolina has a legitimate shot at the playoffs.  Their defense is great and they have a running game now.  All they need is a QB that won't make too many mistakes and Peete is that guy.

Well, Peete lasted long. And, I, inspired by Philly's opinion and still somewhat in need of a backup QB, traded for Peete going into Week 1. Anyway, here is ALL the news on Delhomme's winning the starting job from the LOCAL sources brought to you as a whole exclusively by "the Gridiron Newsstand":

(AP report)
http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/sports/football/nfl/carolina_pant hers/6722361.htm;

(Interview with Head Coach John Fox from official team site)
http://www.panthers.com/gameday/postGameArchive.jsp?id=8522&idGame=8 365;

(Local report)
http://www.gastongazette.com/Portal/ASP/sports/panthers/PanthersDisplay. asp?ID=428;

(Fan report)
http://pantherfreaks.com/news/EpyFpkVykAZZFAzyac.php.

So, Delhomme has to go up against Tampa next week.  Does he stick?  Have we heard the last of Peete,... either this season or FOREVER?  Does Weinke still have his hand in any of this?  Inquiring minds want to know...
