Steelers in season reports - Porter, Fordham at OT

I am going to use this thread through the season for non-earth shattering news regarding the Steelers.

Here is a very good read that gives detailed information on the Joey Porter shooting: http://www.post-gazette.com/steelers/20030904steele0904p2.asp

Place your left hand on your left buttock and your right hand on your right thigh and think about the vital organs that were missed.   The latest word is that Porter will be out 2-8 weeks.

Todd Fordham was named the starter at right offensive tackle.  He was outplayed Oliver Ross to win the spot.http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/sports/steelerslive/archi ve/s_152998.html

Fordham is a serviceable right tackle, but look for mistakes from this offensive line early as they haven't had much time to practice as a unit and are battling some injuries: C Jeff Hartings has degenerative knee problems, ROG Kendall Simmons has been battling a diabetic-like condition, others have had various nicks and dings.

It almost goes without saying, I found these stories through the links available on "The Gridiron Newsstand."

bg, ALL,

Here's what you can do to ensure proper working order of inserted links...  Put the URL within a "URL call" like this:
Code:
[url]...[/url]

Make it a practice to do that rather than just cutting and pasting the URL and you'll find that it's smooth sailing!

Peace out,
Steg

bg, you had made a mistake.  You had used the "italics call"...
Code:
[i]...[/i]

...by mistake instead of the "URL call".  It's all fixed now, in any case!

By the way, I just wanted to say, bg, that this is a GREAT idea!  I like this kind of thing for the small news.  I would actually like others (especially those who do team reports here on "the Gridiron") to follow your lead.  In any event, we need to let the "offseason" report threads drop at this point.
