Trading for Vick?? (very long)

A guy in my league took Vick in the 6th round, knowing he was injured and made the statement that he wants to trade him and that the closer it gets to Vick's return the higher the trade value it will take to get him.

His roster is as follows:

QB - Gannon, Green, Vick

RB- M. Faulk, C-Mart, Shipp, L. Smith (this is his perceived  weakness, and I feel if I make an offer with a RB he might bite now, since Faulk and C-Mart had weak performances this week)

WR - Booker, Hall, Horn, M. Lewis, S. Smith

TE - Brady, Gonzalez

D - Steelers

He got beat this week and is worrying about his RB's.

My roster:

QB - Brooks, Collins
RB - Portis, J. Lewis, F. Taylor, S. Mack, O. Smith
WR - Moulds, K-Rob, Rod Smith, Chambers, Lelie
TE - McMichael
D - Ravens, Seahawks

Is Vick even worth trading for?

What should I offer that won't hurt me?

Will having Vick ultimately make my team better?

I know that our rosters seem stacked, but there were about 3 in our 10 team league that really didn't have a clue as to what they were doing on draft day

I realize this is very long, but any advice would be appreciated.

Looking at your rosters, I'm assuming you start two RBs?  If that is the case, I'd dangle Fred Taylor straight up for Vick.  You're set with Portis and Lewis (and Mack or Onterrio for bye weeks) - that's my RB lineup (minus Fred) too.

Then you can stow Vick away and wait until he is ready to be a stud again.  Or when it is closer to him coming back, you can offer to trade him to a QB-poor team for something even better than Taylor.

You're team, as is, currently looks as a playoff caliber team.

Depending on when you hold playoffs, most likely weeks 15 and 16, check what teams Atlanta will be playing. If the match-ups are favorable, I'd consider dealing for Vick.

Though, Taylor straight up for Vick? I wouldn't do it, I'd ask for something else back.  Possibly C-mart if he bites.

Acquiring Vick, especially for fairly cheap, is always a good idea.  If you can get what KJ suggests, more power to you, and with this guy's having Lamar Smith on his roster, it may be possible.  However, a more possible, fairer option might be something more like Brooks and Mack for Vick and Martin or maybe even Faulk.  With Mack, don't buy into the Week 1 hype too much,... this is your chance to sell high.  Also, I have significant reservations about Brooks.  I think his job is very much so on the line here this year and his Week 1 performance wasn't a good start.
