or go with Moe Williams? Garner is banged up but he just might do some damage against SD. OTOH, because of his ribs, it might be Wheatley or Crockett taking it into the goal line.
Any opinions?
TIA

Garner has not done much this season, while Moe Williams has been tearing it up each week. Now that Culpepper is injured (50/50 chance of playing this weekend) and Moss is hurting, the Vikes will look to rely on their running game even more, which means mo' Moe.
That is a tough call. I would still go with Garner in this critical game against their inner-division rivals. Given Culpepper and Moss's being banged up, San Francisco will probably very well key more on Moe. I see Oakland and San Francisco really needing these wins... So, I would go with Garner in a winning effort over Moe in a losing one if you follow!
Minnesota has a very good offensive line... Moe is averaging more than 5 yards a carry... Moe is healthy... Moe won't be losing goal-line carries to any TD vultures (he IS the TD vulture with Culpepper gimpy)... Moe is averaging nearly 100 rushing yards a game... Garner is averaging about 30 rushing yards a game... They are both equally capable receivers... In 7 games against SD, Garner has averaged 36 rushing yards a game and has only 3 TDs (rushing AND receiving)...
The SD LBs are young, Garner is experienced. SD has been giving up a lot of yards to RBs this season. The Raiders have been talking about going more to the running game. If Garner is healthy, he might have a good game.
The 49ers have been tough against the run, and I have no clue how things will work out if Frerotte plays. Chapman may play and take carries from Moe. I think Moe will score but may not get the yards.

Tough call since Garner has been hampered with his small injury, and Oakland's generall state of confusion. Moe has been solid so far, however, many say that SF has been great against the run this year. I'll say that Minny has run on anyone they've wanted to since pretty much last year, so I think you have to give Moe the benefit of the doubt, especially considering his production thus far.
