Should I make this trade?

I've been offered Buckhalter, Rudi Johnson and J. Smith for Harrison and Calico.

My RBs and WRs are
RB - S. Davis, M. Pittman, D. Foster, L. Jordon
WR - Harrison, Toomer, Streets, Calico, McCants and T. Edwards
14 teams, standard scoring (w/ 1pt per catch)

Is this a good trade?

No... it's not a good trade.  Is this the same person who has been trying to get Harrison from you all season?  If so, tell him to offer you a real RB or stop wasting your time.

It is the same person.  He really wants Harrison.  I am going to ask for J. Lewis and J. Smith for Harrison and Calico.  That would give me S. Davis and Lewis, both on teams whos offence goes though them.  Then I can trade Pittman  to bolster my WRs.  Does that sound  like a better plan?

That sounds like a much better plan.  Lewis and Davis would be a sweet combo.  Adding Smith helps out your WRs.  While Calico is a promising receiver, he's not one you can count on week in week out at this point, so the loss shouldn't hurt you except for depth.

The "flow" of this discussion is right on the mark!

Again, I just want to hammer in the point that you can't move a blue-chip player like Harrison without getting a blue-chip or at least "near" blue-chip player in return, and, recent performances by these "Johnny come 'latelies'" notwithstanding, none of the players he is offering you are even close to being true blue-chip players.  He's just doing the old "pile on" routine (and throwing in a little "name" value with Jimmy Smith)... and he even wants Calico thrown back at him.

Anyway,... GREAT, productive discussion!

No way do the deal.  Unless it is the second idea you had.  Your running backs are already pretty solid so your gain would be way to small to give up harrison.

I definitely woudn't do the deal that was proposed.  That's absolutely horrible.  Even though your counter is a little better, I would keep what you've got.  Think about it...  who would you rather have starting:

S. Davis, M. Pittman, M. Harrison, A. Toomer

or

S. Davis, J. Lewis, A. Toomer, J. Smith?

While Lewis is better than Pittman, I'm not sure it makes up for downgrading Harrison for Smith.  Harrison is a stud!

Just my opinion.

Reworked trade

I have decided not to do either of  the trades.   The team wanting Harrison will be my biggest competition in the playoffs and he already has Holt.

I'm working on getting McAllister, Hasselbeck and Mason for L. Jordon, T. Edwards, T. Calico and a  # 4 pick next year.
Then (a done deal if the first trade goes)
Holmes and  A. Johnson for Pittman, Harrison and Brady
Both of these trades would be with teams not going to the playoffs.
My lineup would be.
QB - McNair, Hasselbeck
RB - S. Davis, McAllister, Holmes and D. Foster
WR - Toomer, Warrick, Mason, Streets, Burelson
TE - D. Graham
Sorry for the long post. Your thoughts?
