Both Portis and Barlow on bye...

The following guys are available for a one-week fill in:

Bettis (v ARI)
Shipp (v PIT)
Gary (v DET)
Jackson (v KCC)
Bennett (v SDC)
Hambrick (v BUF)
Buckhalter (v GB)

I am leaning towards Troy Hambrick at this point against the weak Buffalo D.

I would clearly go with Gary against DET like you said above. DET DEF sucks big time!!! Ooops Gary plays FOR DET. Your bad.
Hambrick-best chance of TD and yds
Shipp-This guys just plain looks good-yds-no TDs
Bettis-ARI DEF is soft-Yds and should get a TD too.

For God's Sakes, if you have the chance to pick up Bennett, GRAB HIM!!!  One week is not the issue!

But for a one week thing, unless you have Superman instead of socking away Bennett, here is what I think at this point of this week:

Shipp
Hambrick
Bettis
Jackson
Buckhalter
Bennett

But unless you have no chance for any advancement whatsoever...GRAB BENNETT !!!

Agree with alot here.  Pick up Bennett for the long haul but I totally agree with Steg go with Shipp for the week.

Hambrick is my second pick.

As for this week, the East Valley Tribune says that Smith won't play this week.  Echo to Steg.

Assuming you also get points for yards, this week I would rank them:

1-Bennett - 100+/1TD
2-CBuck-80+/1TD
3-Hambrick- 70+/1TD
4-Bettis-60+/1TD
5-Shipp-60+
***JMO based on potential and matchups....

Rest of season:
1-Shipp
2-Bennett
3-Hambrick
4-CBuck
5-Bettis

All the Steeler defense does is stuff the run. Blake will have a season high in pass attempts this week.

I like Bennett

PS.
How are those guys on the waiver wire?

Jetdoc, like FatJake brought up, what's your scoring system?  If you're in a points-for-TDs league, watch out for Williams and Staley as possible vulture backs.  Still like both C-Buck and Bennett for the long haul.

I like Benett, this week and for the long haul.  Bennett will be thhe feature back by  week 13. He will get most of his TDs on break away runs though.
I also like Buckhalter.   Philly has the r-game going.
