Burress (shoulder) did not practice for the second day in a row, but he remains probable on the team's injury report. Coach Bill Cowher said he is "hopeful" Burress will practice today and play against the Cardinals. "We're just trying to get him back," Cowher said. "We don't anticipate changing his status."

Well, I don't know about his status.  But, if he were NOT to play, I think Antwaan Randle El would become a mighty intriguing option for the week.

Steelers' wide receiver Plaxico Burress returned to the practice field on Friday for the first time this week. He has been hampered by a shoulder injury. Burress is still listed as probable on the injury report, but he is expected to play against the Cardinals.

Check back in on Sunday morning to see if his status has changed, but for now it looks like Plax will start against the Cards.

Here is some more detailed follow-up on Coachnorm's report from a LOCAL source brought to by way of "the Gridiron Newsstand":

He'll probably play, but he is in pain when he runs, not good news for the receiver responsible for "stretching the field".

Not to mention stretching up for a catch, Owww.  Pain doesn't usually enhanse concentration on the ball.
