Any kibitz on this trade?

I've been offered Jerry Rice and Ryan Longwell for SeaBass and Donte Stallworth.

The necessary background:
We start QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE, WR/TE, WR/RB, K & DEF (I Know, I know, but I'm not the GM)
We get 1pt/reception, the rest is standard scoring.  The 1pt/rec makes a much bigger difference than one would think!  I drafted all wrong (1st time with this scoring oddity), as I went RB,QB,RB in the first 3 rounds and missed out on weekly 15-20pt scorers like Holt and Harrison.

My roster :
QB - DCulp
RB - Pittman, Deuce, Bennett, Buckhalter
WR - JSmith, Moulds, Glenn, DStallworth, Daunte Hall, Javon Walker
TE - Franks
K - SeaBass
D - Dallas

I'm having trouble deciding which way to go on this one, or what I should counter.

I like Rice if OAK can get their QB situation stabilized (read "They start Rob Johnson").  But I already get dry heaves looking at my roster and seeing 2 cheddarheads.  I'm not sure I could stand a third, even if it is a kicker.

Seriously, with Horn's knee hurting, I'm inclined to counter with Walker.

Any thoughts?

The deal is pretty much a wash, and it can come down to personal taste.

Rice is higher than Stallworth in my projections, but not by much.  I've got Seabass with less than a single FG in points difference over Longwell to finish out the season.

Right now, you've got Hall as a Flex position starter, and unless he catches fire, and proves to be more than a Kick returner on a consistent basis, you will be replacing him.

How is your team sitting?  If you are a top scorer, and dominating weekly, you could gamble on Stalworth.  If you are in the pack fighting, Rice seems safer.

Either way, you are only talking about a handful of points, but it might just be the couple you need to get over the top?

I wouldn't do it.  I agree with the Ump that it is probably a wash.  I think Donte' Stallworth has more potential right now - he has a hot QB and an offense that should be able to move the ball.  Stallworth has been a little banged up, but just had a bye, so maybe that will help.

I'm sitting dead last as a result of a lot of bad luck, and a couple bad sit/bench decisions.  This is more a fight to get into the consolation bracket than anything, as the guy I'm trading with is in 8th of 10.

As far as Hall, we get return ydg too, which I neglected to mention, so he's usually good for 5-10 each week.

Thanks for the advice.   I tend to agree, and will probably stand firm.

Yes, Stallworth is probably worth a little more, especially in a points per reception league, just because Donte and Jerry seem to be big play guys now, Dante is healthy, and Rice doesn't see the ball much these days and can drop it when he does.

Jano is good when he's on the 12 step program and may have more opportunities to kick FGs, because the Raiders are screwing up when it comes to getting it into the end zone.   Green runs it in and Longwell gets the PAT.

Rice may do better with whoever as QB, but who knows.  Just buy his food bars or whatever.

Keep Dante and Jano.  And Dante might be a great start this week!

This is like 6 of one, half dozen of the other...  But, I am going to throw a belated (given that you have said you think you are not going to make the move) bone in here...  Assuming this is not a deep keeper league, I would actually be inclined to do it.  I like Rice (and Walker, by the way, for that matter, so I wouldn't move him regardless of your cheesehead woes) a little more than Stallworth and I like Longwell a little more than Janikowski.
