Houston Texans - Week Twelve Analysis

The Texans face the luckiest rag-tag group of players in the NFL right now in the New England Patsies. The Patriots are playing out of their mind and way beyond their talent, which is a huge credit to Bill Belichick's coaching ability. The Patriots' offense is a lackluster group, but should come alive against one of the worst defenses in the NFL. The Patriots defense should also have a field day against a Carr-less Texans group. QB David Carr will not play this week, which means that Tony Banks gets the chance to pull a rabbit out of his hat again against a heavily favored Patriot defense. Banks performed exceptionally well against the Carolina defense by not making mistakes, but his fantasy numbers were nothing to write home about. The Texans' QB situation is not worth worrying about this week. Tony Banks - 160 yards passing, 1 TD, 0 INTs; 10 yards rushing, 0 TDs RB Domanick Davis is coming off two down games against tough defenses, but has managed to put up almost 100 combined yards in each of those games. The Patriots should test his ability even further. Given that Banks will be tossing the rock this week, you can expect that Davis will see many flat passes, which should benefit his total yardage. If you have a better scoring option this week, go with them...otherwise you can expect a similar performance out of Davis this week as the past couple of weeks. Domanick Davis - 60 yards rushing, 0 TDs; 40 yards rushing, 0 TDs Stacey Mack and Tony Hollings - negligble stats WR The fact that Banks is under center will help both Andre Johnson and Billy Miller this week - his favorite targets by far. That means that Gaffney and Bradford should disappear this week. I would be hesitant to start Johnson as well, given that Banks will not see many passing yards this week, even if most of them are going to Johnson. Billy Miller is a very good start this week for deep TE leagues, however. Andre Johnson - 4 catches, 50 yards, 0 TDs Jabar Gaffney - 1 catch, 10 yards, 0 TDs Corey Bradford - 1 catch, 10 yards, 0 TDs Billy Miller - 4 catches, 50 yards, 1 TD Overall, I expect the Patsies will control most of the clock this week, but won't absolutely destroy the Texans... Houston 16, Patriots 30

| Can't argue that. There's something to be said for catching a team at the right time (see Vikes vs Denver), but you can't beat all those teams on luck alone. I maintain my opinion from earlier, NE is the dark horse this year who will win deep into the playoffs. At this time, my AFC playoff bracket: NE - AFC East Cincy - AFC North Tenn - AFC South KC - AFC West Indy - W1 Denver - W2 NE vs Cin = NE Indy vs DEN = DEN DEN vs KC = KC NE vs TEN = NE KC vs NE = KC
