Domanick Davis - Will he be the man in the future?

This weekend I had to make a road trip to Northen Mass and stayed with some relatives that did not have cable or satelite

So the only game I got to see was the Patriots vs Texans.

So before I ask the question let me tell you that our league is a complete keeper league. Since my season was over before it even started I've been dumping players for draft picks.

But before the trade deadline passed I had an offer to get Domanick Davis. It would have been for (2) second round picks in the 2004 draft. I passed on it mostly because I never watched a Texans game.

After Sunday though I think I may have made a mistake. He didn't do to well Sunday but he could have done a lot better.

My question is this, will Davis be the featured back the franchise needs or will they bring in someone else. I thought Jonathan Wells had a decent rookie season and he is basicly a lost cause now.

To me the Texans last draft was not to good, (Dave Ragone, Drew Henson) so who knows what they are planning.

Any thoughts?

Unless Tony Hollings really shows something to the coaches in the next few weeks or before next year's regular season, then I think Domanick Davis will be the #1 guy in Houston.

After finally getting a chance to watch him 1st hand I'd say he's definitely the future of the Texans.  He may need a full season under his belt to prove he is durable enough to carry the full load.  He reminds me of LT with his size & speed.  He's a tough little guy that can be very dangerous when he gets into an opposing team's secondary.

Domanick will face some competition in the offseason from Hollings, but for the most part the consensus here in Houston is that he will probably hold onto the starting job.

Capers is thrilled with his character and work ethic, and even other teams in the league have commented to the Texans on their disappointment that they didn't grab him when they had the chance.
