Bills' McGahee may make debut against Jets ESPN: NFL (05.12.2003 19:00) Decision will be made after warm-ups ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills running back Willis McGahee could make his NFL debut Sunday when Buffalo hosts the New York Jets. Coach Greg Williams said Friday there is a chance the Bills' first-round pick may make an appearance. "Willis had a good week of work. He practiced with our offense every day this week," Williams said. "We'll go down to the final warm-up before we make a decision." McGahee has been practicing with the team since mid-October...
Though it will be nice seeing him hitting the field and even just getting in a few snaps, he is probably still a non-factor for the remainder of this season, huh?
He was NOT activated for the game, so it looks like another week before he gets his shot. As long as the Bills are alive for a playoff berth, I wouldn't expect to see too much from him.
McGahee also faces a stout rush defense in the Titans. I wouldn't gauge his value based on any stats he might produce this week. When the Bills are eliminated from the playoffs, they should give McGahee all the carries to see what they have.
While I'd love to see how McGahee does in a professional setting, I can't imagine the team would bench Henry to watch McGahee play an entire game or two. The effect that would have on the Bills-Henry relationship would be huge.
