The Skins don't have a 2nd because they will give that up to JAX for Mark Bru(over the HILL)nell. I have a simple solution: deal the players and swap 1st rounders. HA! This is becoming very interesting. Especially to any Quentin Griffin owners out there. |
| Just doin' my homework... Here are the official reports from "the Gridiron Newsstand" and "The REAL Feed" on this would-be WHOPPER of a trade: http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c=sportsnetwork&page=nfl/ne ws/ABN3068791.htm; http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36~86~1973439,00.html. on Feb 23rd, 2004, 1:23pm, DirkDiggler wrote:| Uh yes. This deal seems close to happening. BUT, Griffin is not the only player the Donkeys like. While Griffin has the inside track, I am not so sure he will get the nod over Anderson(who MAYBE cut) and Ahmaad Galloway. |
| As to this peripherally related discussion, while I personally as a Broncomaniac would like to see them go with Mike Anderson as their #1 tailback if this Bailey-Portis deal actually goes through, it seems as though he would be the odd-man-out according to this local report off "the Gridiron Newsstand": http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/broncos/article/0,1299,DRMN_17_267 6142,00.html. I, for one, just do not think Griffin is the answer... too small and way too unproven.

I read the same article Stegey. I would like to see Anderson go somewhere else too. He is a bit long in the tooth now, but still a solid player. Even though he has only been in the league for 4 yrs and will be 31 in September '04. A guy who lives in Den has told me that they are going to go with Griffin. He is a a bit short, but so was Emmitt. He actually is built like Emmitt. Emmitt is listed at 5'10", but really is only 5'8.5". Griffin is no Emmitt of course, but worth noting. I am not comparing him to Emmitt by any means, but small guys can produce. Dunn is 5'7" , not a stud, but does produce decent stats. I know my comments are more from the hopeful side since I have him in 1 league. So just disregard all this BS talk.

Okay, as per sources available on "the Gridiron Newsstand", here is where the Bailey-to-Denver part of the deal stands on its own apart from where the Portis-to-Washington part of the deal stands: AP Report - http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/sports/steelerslive/s_182 224.html; Local Report - http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/broncos/article/0,1299,DRMN_17_268 9813,00.html.
