Holy backfield, Batman! Lots of talk about RB LaMont Jordan comin' out of "the Gridiron Newsstand". Is he going or is he staying? What does his future hold as he enters his prime? Choose your LOCAL source de jour or glean information from them all and form your own take. The choice is yours on "the Gridiron": http://www.nj.com/jets/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-1/1083746308197580. xml; http://www.nj.com/jets/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-1/1083573068152460. xml; http://www.nypost.com/sports/jets/20080.htm; http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/05/sports/football/05brief-jets.html; http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/03/sports/football/03JETS.html; http://www.northjersey.com/page.php?qstr=eXJpcnk3ZjczN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXkxMTk mZmdiZWw3Zjd2cWVlRUV5eTY1MjI3MTkmeXJpcnk3ZjcxN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXk2; http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/story/190234p-164571c.html; http://www.ctnow.com/sports/football/jets/ny-spjets033784191may03,1,4884 263.story?coll=ny-jets-print; (latest AP report) http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/wire/sns-ap-fbn-jets-jordan, 0,4191324.story?coll=sns-ap-jets-headlines. For anyone holding onto LaMont Jordan hoping for a breakout.... he has been the subject of news this week in the NYC area. LaMont did not come into camp in good shape and was demoted to third on the depth chart behind Curtis and Jonathon Reese. Reese has been getting a lot of carries and looked good in the pre-season. Lamont made some comments and indicated that he was upset by this apparent demotion. However, it now seems clear that Jordan will return as the primary back-up once the season starts and will get a few carries per game, probably in the Red Zone. I saw him play in one game and thought he looked good. He had a couple nice runs, a TD and seemed to be in shape. I think he could be more productive than Curtis if given the chance, but he has not even come close to earning the job. The bottom line is I would not hold onto this guy unless you are in a deep keeper.

| Let me add... That's BIG coming from a dude who this offseason traded for and protected Jordan in the GBRFL. Very objective report and take! Kudos, DB!
