Should I trade Trent Green and THomas Jones for Mike Vick and TJ Duckett. If I do it I will gain duckett and only have the following remaining backs on my team.

Kevin Jones - Det
Chris Brown-Tennessee

Don't do it... Green is as good a fantasy QB (with less injury risk) as Vick is.  And you need a starting RB like T.Jones.. Duckett won't even get a majority of the carries in Atlanta.

Philly has a valid point concerning Vick's injury risk (every player is an injury risk, but Vick is certainly more so),  but I might actually do that trade for the following reasons:

1) Vick is a special player (when he's on the field), he is the type that can carry your team some weeks with his contribution of rushing yards and TDs.  Oh, and he's not too bad passing the ball either.

2) Remember Thomas Jones is the guy that was been waffling around the league ever since he came out of school as the Cardinals highly touted first round pick.  He's no sure thing, in fact he had more fumbles than TDs last year (4 vs. 3).   Will he improve on the 627 yard 3 TD season of last year as the Bear's feature back ?  Maybe, but Anthony Thomas is still lurking and Jone's potential is probably locked between Garrison Hearst and Antowain Smith; a borderline first-round bust, but servicable RB that is really nothing to get excited about.

3) Trent Green really cranked it up at the end of last season, but if you think about it, you could probably find a Trent Green clone on the waiver wire, whose maybe not as good, but close enough in the event that Vick gets hurt again.  Also consider he lost his QB coach this season, and the Chiefs receivers, outside of Tony Gonzalez, pretty much suck.

4) Philly's right about TJ Duckett, he probably won't get the majority of carries, but he will certainly be first in line for the goalline carries.  I would guess that Duckett will score more than Thomas Jones this season and their overall contribution to your team is potentially equal.

Now on the downside, you would be putting alot of your eggs in the Atlanta Falcon basket, but you would also be virtually assured of almost every rushing TD they get.  (IF Vick doesn't get hurt, do you feel lucky ?)

First off, jabenus, to "the Gridiron"!  I look forward to getting to know you round here.

Regarding your sitch, brother, keeper league, DEFINITELY make the trade, turnover league, still make the trade.  In most systems, running quarterbacks like Vick can put up some seriously unparalleled PHAT numbers.  Of course, you do assume the injury risk that comes with that.  But, Green is no spring chicken, so...

DO IT!  But, good luck with whatever you decide and THANKS for dropping by and joining the team!

I DIGRESS...
Thanks for the post.  Easy on the redundant threads, brother.  They work against the streamlined type of organization we strive for here on "the Gridiron".  As such, I am going to lock this one.  Thank you for your anticipated understanding and future cooperation.
