Whose a better start this week, Favre or Hasselbeck. Im leaning towards Hasselbeck against the Cards.

Have you checked out Troy Aikman's efficiency ratings?

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/7812004

They seem much more realistic than standard defensive rankings.  (However, I'm not quite sure how they translate to fantasy yet -- I'll have to watch them for a bit.)  Anyway, he has the Cards defense ranked pretty high (4th, vs. 28th in NFL yards allowed) and the Cowboys ranked very low (31st vs. 15th NFL yards allowed).  He takes into account scoring and turnovers(which are important in most fantasy leagues) and also red-zone efficiency, first downs, and yards-per-play (which are less important, although indirectly significant, in fantasy football).

With that being said, I'd go with Favre this week.  The Dallas secondary is depleted and their offense is weak, which means Favre should get plenty of chances.  Ahman Green is also gimpy (Achilles - not practicing this week) so Favre may go to the air a bit more to pick on those Cowboys' rookie DBs.  (I don't think Hass is a bad choice.  I think the Seattle-Arizona game could be a high-scoring one which is music to a fantasy owner's ears.)

Personally, though this week this may appear to be a close call, I think there are very few justifications for benching '04 Hasselbeck in favor of '04 Favre.  Favre is just too up-and-down this year.  Hasselbeck is Mr. Consistent and will remain that way against the Cards.  The safer and, I assert, better bet is Hasselbeck.

This is another case where there really isn't a wrong answer. If you want the better upside, and more risk (i.e. you think your opponent has a better lineup); go with Favre. If you want the safe bet, go with Hass.

Its a nice option to have these 2, versus trying to decide between Griese and Boller.

Go with Hasslebeck.  I think he finished last season stronger than he started, I could be wrong.  Regardless, he is a consistent starter who can still burn opponents for a big day every now and then.  Hasslebeck is your man.

Yeah, LOL.  This was just another one of those weeks that shows that nothing is a shoe-in.  Players that were supposed to perform didnt and teams that were supposed to win didnt.  If anyone had told me the Rams and Seahawks would have lost this week, I probably would have laughed.  BTW, another thing that really impressed me on my team was Tory "Big Play" Holt and his one catch for 4 yards.  Woohoo, WTG Tory.
