trade advice

whew, the trade talks are flying this week!

L1)  i give Holt & T Jones for Priest Holmes.

my record 2-4, 12 team redraft.

my team:  {have to start 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 flex}

QB: Plummer

RB: E Smith, M Bennett, K Jones, Pittman, T Jones

WR: Harrison, Jimmy Smith, Holt

K:  Vandy, K Brown

DEF:  NYG

if i do the trade i would just have to pickup another WR for Smiths bye week.  avail WR's are - Key Johnson, Lloyd, Burleson, A Davis

i dont like T Jones only cause CHI schedule is not easy the rest of the way and their O stinks.  Holt is up & down but Holmes is pretty consistent and has a decent looking schedule rest of the way.

L2) i give Randy Moss (yes stud Moss) & C Taylor (only a 2 week starter)  and i get E James & D Jackson

my team is 4-1-1,  12 team redraft.

lineup:

QB: Harrington, Testaverde, Collins

RB: C Mart, D Davis, Wells, Taylor, Wheatley, Bell  [start 2]

WR:  Holt, Gonzalez, Lelie, R. Moss  [start 3]

K:  Wilkins

DEF:  BAL, BUF

i normally would never think of trading Moss - only he's injured (how bad?).  leaning towards no on this one although i love E James.  plus i play the team with C Pep wks 7 & 9 and i hope Moss is fully back by wk 9 meeting to try and counter him.  but i figured i'd get some opinions on it

L2 #2)

same league as just above. a guy offered me Hasselback, Burleson and Kennison for Holt, Wells ? & a third player he's letting me chose - not that he will accept what i pick.  he doesnt want a QB.  only options Wheatley?  Bell?  Taylor is backup after week 8, Davis & Martin would be my starters rest of year.  unless i pick up a less WR to throw in mix.  WW tonight.  only real option is Lloyd.

L@ #3) or he will take C Mart & either Gonzo or Lelie for Hasselback, Burleson & Kennison.  that would leave me with Davis & Wheatley as my starters for rest of year.

i think Hasselback is better than all 3 of my QB's and he has a decent schedule rest of year and usually a second half player.  plus, even if K Rob is suspended now he has Rice to throw to.  what do u guys think.

thanks.   KC

Okay, in short, as time is of the essence these days for the old Stegger...

I would DEFINTELY do trade L1.  Holmes is just that good.  Jones may struggle the rest of the season; Bruce seems to be having a comeback year and cutting into Holt's numbers and, in any event, you still would be left with Harrison and J. Smith, not hard to take.

I would do trade L2.1 OR L2.2, not both, because that would leave you in a bad receiver sitch even though your quarterbacks are paltry too, but I like them more than your receivers.  Edge and Jackson are worth Moss, and Taylor will be a throw-away again after this week.  I would not do trade L2.3 under any circumstances.  Martin and Gonzo are just that good.  After doing trade L2.1, let's say, if you could then dump ALL the rest of your running backs and perhaps Lelie and the Bills defense to the guy for Hasselbeck, then we're talking.  Bottom line, I don't think you are trading from a position of strength (the longest word in the English language with just one vowel or vowel sound ).  Get Edge and Jackson first and go from there!  Good luck!

I'd do the first trade but not the others.

to sameoldsameold:

WW is picked clean.  only RB's left that see action:

Sammy Morris (will he stay the starter in Miami - maybe worth a shot - can they really be this bad all year???)

Levens (is Westbrook going to start losing his goal line carries like he did last week?)

Alstott

that really about it.
